Laptop-less DJ setup

So Qbert and the Thud Rumble crew is working on making the DJ setup be without a laptop.



There's still a need for a tiny screen so you can see what you're doing, but I get the idea of where they're going with this. What's good is that hopefully someone can take this even further. I'm thinking why not have just the mixer with all the controls and a small screen at the top that can tilt up? That would be sick. This way you would truly only need a turntable and a mixer - that's it.

The funny thing too is that it started out with just turntables and a mixer then went to a DVS setup with a laptop, now we're going back!

I was surprised NI hadn't come up with anything yet...though they seemed to be more focused with removing the turntable/jogwheel from the equation than the laptop....touch screen monitor is a plus just need it to be a little bigger to search for songs

Ya that's it, unless they have some quick access knobs right near the screen, but bottom line is just make it super simple because having a laptop takes the DJ away from the tables. I've seen that so much lately where DJs spend a lot of time messing with the laptop instead of doing something on the turntables.
