Kurzweil K2500

Has any one used or just know anything about this keyboard? I was listening to a RZA interview and he mentioned using it and that it could emulate any sound. My friend knows some industrial artist who lives and dies by it, but I don't live anywhere near him so ah well. I read some information about it, but just wondering if there's any first hand accounts about it. I'm looking into a sampling keyboard and wanted to know about it ease of use and general feel of it. Any feedback is appreciated.

I was thinking of getting it also a while back because I use the ASR-10 and you can load all those sounds into it. But, they were asking too much for it at the time so I stuck with my ASR-10. It's a good piece I heard from some guys at the local music store. You should go to a music shop that is selling it and demo it and see if it's your cup of tea. It's more over a better piano, but a great sampling workstation too, almost unmatched sonic richness ( try a gempromega 3 and get your ears bleeding hehe ). The v.a.s.t. engine in combo with sample option kick ass to lotta samplers these days but I would look into perhaps a newer one like a K2661. But, if it can be had cheap s/h you'll wont regret it.

yeah its around 2700 or so if you get the sampling option (ouch). the kurzweil 2500 was tight, i played a used one at a music store, loved the sounds on that thing more than the triton extreme, fantom, or motif es.

I got to mess with like a rack kuzweil before. I forgot which one, but they guy at the guitar center told me hands down this was the best keyboard out. Its a monster to learn, but its has everything on the market beat and its old. You don't hear of to many hip hop producers using it, but I"m sure somebody has it in there arsenal. This is the only keyboard out that can compare to the ASR-10 feature wise. I'm not saying that the ASR has better features that the motif,triton and fantom, but I mean as far as if you want an upgrade that is closer to an ASR the kurzweil is the way to go.

dj quik had a kurzweil in his setup, dunno if he still uses it. needlz has the k2661.

i used to have a k2000 and for then it was kick ass.... but the menu's are deep man can take along time to get to the parameter you want to edit.... maybe there are good computer editors out there now if so it would be good.... but the time involved to edit patches is too much of a feck around for me
