who saw this movie? I thought it was definitley a good movie, the special effects were RIDICULOUS. The only part I didn't like was when the movie team were on skull island and running away from the dinosaurs. the special effects at that point was just way too green screen and ultimatley cheesy. Jackson could have done better with that scene. He made King Kong look amazing though. Whoever hasnt seen this should definiltey check it out!

really? I thought it was cool how they developed the relationship between king kong and the lead actress(whatever her name was.) Skull island WAS SICK TOO. I like how Jackson spent a lot of time visually describing the island, with that part in the ravine with the insects and worm things...that was dope

Yeah Kong's a top flick. Been a fan of Peter Jackson's work since forever. He really milked the story for all it's worth. It's not one of them flims where you think they could have done more with it.

If anyone digs Peter Jackon's movies - check out a flick called Braindead (it's called Dead/Alive in the U.S). Shit is awesome.

Cheers

I thought that was an amazing film, i really got immersed in the story. And Skull Island was tight! But that bit where they all first saw the locals of the island, that was freaky.

Daymo:I'll definitley check out that Braindead film, I've liked all of Peter Jacksons films so far, Lord of the Rings kicked arse.

Well that really skinny script is really hard to formulate into a good movie. And Peter Jackson should have toned it down a bit. It was to much.

But I liked it. in a escapism kinda way I found it cool.

I work at the movies here in sweden and what I defenetly have found about this movie is that people tend to hate or love it. It's really not many that goes idle-thought from it.

But there defenetly are better movies though.

Garden state, Eternal sunshine of the spottless mind, Suburbia, LOTR
-That's the goods-

that's the biggest problem, there's no depth to the movie at all! the dialouge is real bad imo, the best parts are taken from the original King Kong movie.

That's what I thought they DIDN'T do. I didn't care when the ape died, I was like "Oh, okay, so?".

I mean, after she was taken by the ape, he ran wit her thru the forest. When he put her down, she began dancing and entertaining the monkey? wtf...

Then she spends like 24hrs with the monkey and she's prepared to risk the lives of the people on the ship, that she spent weeks with, to save the monkey?

Apart from that, I had alot of problems with the momentum of the movie. It felt very unbalanced time-wise.

Jack Black and the FX was the only thing that was good in the movie.

lol at blowing King Kong..FOREAL! she should have shown that monkey some love!! ahah. The first peter jackson flick i ever saw was Dead Alive, and that shit is DOPE!!! But to those who are going to rent it, get the NR rated one. The rated R one cut a lot of the cool shit out.

I cried at the end watching mighty joe young when I was a kid.

I was falling asleep watching king kong.... (King Kong still looks fake. I thought they made King Kong act too human like... )

Anyways.... isn't this kind of late for King Kong reviews?

I think the biggest prob with king kong was the lack of a big script. Cuz face it, the original is kinda skinny scriptwize.
"go to island, meet the monkey, shase the monkey, catch monkey, bring monkey home, kill monkey" - that's about it.
So he had to much space to roam and thus overdid it ALOT.

But LOTR is the other way around. It had to much script so he couldn't incorporate so much jibberish into it.

I think he's an exellent director if the script isn't to flat as it is in King Kong.

Don't get me wrong. I liked King Kong very much as a pure entertainment. but it isn't a masterpiece movie wize in my opinion.

Yeah in that aspect it was a good movie. You kept on edge and the action never settled down for a minute.
But as a movie, it wasn't really all that good. The characters where barely skint on. And the interaction between the characters weren't all that good dialoguewise an all.

But hey. As far as action and entertainment goes. It rocked!
