Have to say it was a good flick. Very inspirational. The sessions were pretty tight. One guy had an MPC and some Casio keyboard. They had some crappy mics and a decent mixer. The track they put out was good and they made it seem so easy. Made me want to get back in the Lab and make sum beats. Anyone seen it?

Yo dont feel bad I JUST saw that shit on DVD this weekend too.
I thought it was good.
So good I told my girlfriend she needed to hit them streets and get me a microphone...
She said I already had one and I told her I need a NEW microphone and get ta trickin !!! HAHA!!
For real though I liked the movie I always think its funny to watch people make hot recordings on radio shack mics.
I have made those things for real and they dont sound nearly as good as when ol girl started singin that first hook.
Crappy board or no board. Thats hollywood though.
Funny thing, I went went to school with Anthony Hamilton (word)
and he , I, and some other cats all used to run together and do music together.
Being as the rest of us rapped it wasnt like we could have him sing battle against other crews you know?
But he has always been doin his thing and thats my man and shit but I hadnt seen him since high school '89,
until last summer at a funeral. I get over to him afterwards and handed him my card and was like man please holla at me seriously and of course I havent heard from him yet so I always picture the whole pissin on the tape thing with Luda and laugh.
I figure we're going to get up eventually anyway. No bad feelings.

I couldn't stand Terence Howards preformance. I thought his persona wasn't rehearsed enough before the it was filmed, it was an alright movie though.. if they would have had an ill mc doing the part it would have made more sense:

1. terrence wasn't that great of an mc
2. an mc might not be a great actor but they could have brought me into the movie and made me a fan of it.

Ohwell, most people in society don't know shit about rap so if it looks, sounds, and seems like hiphop it must be.. i guess

I actually liked his performance, but not as personifying a rapper. I don't think the whole idea of the movie was to personify him as a good MC, but as a cat struggling in his mid 30s and trying to make something of himself. A small time pimp how has a vision. And I think he portrayed THAT character very well.

And, for real... I wish I had the talent to talk crap like he did in the movie...

if i paid money too see it I woulda been pissed but that's just my tastes.

Like sYgMa said its about the story of a pimp in his mid 30's trying to make something of himself.. which saying that it was ok. But I like my movie pimps more like Rudy Ray Moore and this guy was just plain dorky as far as I thought. Are there any other mainstream movies with an MPC that is being used, I thought that was cool.
