Whattup fam. So damn, the past 4 or 5 days have been crazy for me. I engineered my first session with a major artist (now it's been 3 or 4 sessions, with different major artists), had a real long and educational conversation with producer Buckwild, and now to top it off, produced my first track for a major artist.
Well, Consequence (G.O.O.D. Music/Sony) is now going down in history as not only my first major engineering session, but my first major label production. Me and him got in the studio, vibed for a bit, and he pick out this one beat, vibed with it for a little bit, and recorded to it all tonite. We got the hook layed down, and the first verse, and we're gonna finish the rest at some point this weekend or next week. The track is a real smooth summer joint. Real laid back, happy, mid-tempo joint. It's tentatively titled "Couped Up In The Crib".
You can also look out for me on his DVD. He was filming during a lot of the session. I got a shout out from him telling everyone to "look out for Swivel, he's one of the hottest up and coming producers in the game right now" and even a little talking part on the DVD lol.
His album is basically done already. He's already picked out his first single. Right now he's got probably 25 or 30 tracks to choose from for the record, so I HOPE this song makes the cut. He seemed like he really liked it. He said it will either make the album, or if not, it will be a street single to build some buzz for the record. Drop it right before the album and whatnot. Anyways, I got my fingers crossed. I promise you will all hear it soon enough. Either early June, or if it makes the album, July/August when its supposed to drop!!
