let me quote wonkette

There’s so much romantic goodwill out there tonight, for the Obamas, that people are using home video cameras to videotape the teevee showing the new First Couple’s First Dance. It is touching, this outpouring of inept support!

These strange off-kilter videos of video also seem like they’re from another time, the early 1960s or something, when “Color TV” was not yet very successful at portraying the actual colors of our light spectrum, here on Earth. And that Beyonce has a nice voice, if she’s actually singing this, live. (It’s probably just a wax demon with a MacBook plugged up its yazoo with the USB or whatever, but still, we thought Beyonce was … uh, a rapper? We don’t actually know. We thought she was a type of shampoo.)

This one maybe was taped with a BetaMax. America is back! (reference to another vid)

now that he's in office it's time to let the cat out of the bag...you were right all the time bitters, we muslims, oops sorry, muslins, are going to start a jihad, communist socialist dictatorship, fascist policies.....and make everybody, except us, gay marry, lulz.

long live prez. barack hussein (eat it) obama....and thank god, allah, xenu, whoever, that the dick and bush gay ass show is finally over, the world is tired of getting buggered.

on a comedic tip, this inauguration had me rolling every time a reporter was talking about the "balls"...lmao.... the funniest one was on fox when they were like "the balls are swinging in full motion tonight."...hahaa..

that and Aretha Franklin singing my country tis of thee.... she was like 'My Cunt........try tis of thee'...... I think she paused on the wrong part..lol. I'm sure they will be making fun of that on "The Soup" ...

Yes there are high ecpectations for the man, but I think in his speech he put it squarely back on the American private and public sectors shoulders. It up to us to help fix this crap, there are ways that we can putll together and do it. That combined with help from gov and solid leadership is what can make it better.
To be real it will take 20+ years to clean up all this crap.

I'm pretty sure Obama knows that people are going to be expecting results from him now that he used his change angle to win the election. A good portion of younger Americans aren't used to hardships or having to wait for things to happen, and rely too much on technology to make their lives easier. Plus you have a pretty much all Democratic House... The Republican Party got screwed over this election thanks to Bush's negative public image and numerous other factors, many of which are most likely known by higher authorities. I'm sure Republicans everywhere are very bitter about the 08' election for President and other seats, and sorry to generalize, but the Republicans hate losing. Obama is going to be under a microscope, and the first big mistake he makes in offices (assuming he's human), I guarantee is going to be blown out of proportion and heavily covered by conservative-biased medias such as Fox News. During his campaign, the anchors and journalists on the show rarely gave fair interviews to any Democrats, and spent way more time covering McCain's campaign trail and his "POW" experiences than anything related to Obama.
I personally feel the most important aspect of this whole Obama thing is that it proves that people regardless of race, wealth, and religion, have the same potential to achieve anything they wish in life, although many people start disadvantaged. Obama is a hard worker and seems to care way more about the interests of EVERY American, regardless if they matter or not. Whether or not his campaign is successful we will see in time, but until then, we elected him, and we shall see. I feel like dubya was a puppet president...hopefully Obama doesn't sell out...

Yeah, hes a real person, and he seems to actually care and wants to be connected to the average ctizen even though they want to put him in his bubble. Thats what I like about him and his family.

im glad just to see a black man in the office. hopefully this serves as example to youth that anythings possible for everyone.(if nothing else) Obama yall!!! lol

I agree.
And now we can all pull up our pants past our kness and tie back our snake hair and lose the grillz. I would love to see the youth emulate the new pres. THAT really WOULD make America turn the corner and prosper! Im a firm believer that the prosperity of the US instead of depending on the white upper class succeeding to keep America great, in fact depends on working class African Americans succeeding and prospering for the US to keep churning ahead in a viable direction.

^^^hopefully that will happen. it would definitely prove alot of people wrong and just make obama's legacy even bigger. i

First thing he does is stop the War Crime Trials for Guantanamo, Im really not happy about that.
Some nasty shit went down at guantanamo and now they are gonna get away with it.
Thats crazy shit.
That went all the way back up to Rumsfeld, Bush and Cheney.
He has saved their fucking sick evil asses.

Be pragmatic in your expectations.

1. He has changed U.S. reputation overnight. Putting us at the, let me clear my throat - "moral forefront" - ok, I said it - of the international community.

2. People don't understand that he is not omnipotent and omniscient. He's a person with a staff that will be overworked to the hilt. A lot of people should temper their expectations. People expect him to change their lives "magically".

And last but not least... he has to deal with already established interests that are true power bearers. This is a good quote:

"The world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes. "

Benjamin Disraeli
British Prime Minister
1801-1884

It's just like the music industry. People think cats like Puffy really pull strings - he does, to an extent. But he can't outleverage a senior exec at Vivendi or whoever else owns the distributor. How many people here can name the executive officers at Sony HQ (NOT the music heads... THEIR bosses.)

Hope that he can do the best he possibly can and everyone will support him. I'm always cynical. Seen too many people fall for the same promises over and over. I hope he proves precedent wrong.

Well he put a $100,000 cap on fed salaries today, maybe its just his staff but Im hoping all of washington.
Those making above are good to go but there is a freeze on raises until things get better!
Thats what Im talking about..

It's a wage freeze at the White House. It's symbolic. Come on Relic, I like Barack... but he's a politician, man. Be realistic. Hope he does good - but know when you're reading something that's part of a PR campaign (you know me... I'm cynical.)

He's going up against very powerful established ingrained interests. God knows how much the RIAA lobbies and how much money they throw around town. What about other industries?

It's like a cat going to Hollywood, gets into a studio-head position and then says "I'm gonna change the way Hollywood works." The dude won't get a lot done.

I think cynicism is really rearing its ugly head in me... gotta take a break and go outside. Remember, he's a VERY good politician. Which means he can keep a straight face through a lot of stuff.

Then tell us God...haha.

Hope he follows through with his plans.
Yo dude gotta big weight to carry...just as long as he makes his best effort EVER to fix these problems, and at the same time, show some humility while he's doing it...I mean "the powers that be" had him set up real nice yesterday. He's being watched more than Bush ever was so he gotta make good on some of that shit he's talking about...and beleive me accomplishing"SOME" is better than the last 8 years...I mean truth be told he's done more in one day than Bush did the whole 8 years as far as bringing the world together. Give the brother some credit...he real...I recognised it. Who knows he might be looking for his own crucifiction by catering to the people...only time will tell.

Oh yeah get them Inagural Edition newspapers in a city near you...theyr'e gonna be worth some "doeski" later on...I purchased one...and took 3...I'M RICCCCHHH BIITTCHH! LOL
