ok, well i must say that the black album was about half classic, half filler...... but not bad.....

no suprise, eminem had a very ameteur beat to offer, but thankfully jay had some great insight and made it easy to stomach..... but yeah eminem still bothers me as a so-called producer. december 4th was great, but jays mom is a bit annoying.... "a funny story is... he taught himself how to ride a bike at age 4. isnt that special?" come on now.... anyhow, i thought that the "what more can i say" was ill as can possibly be, and it will at the very least spark some serious thought... the only beef i got on here is that that snap-clap sound on every beat is tirsome, especially when it isnt even a good one, like the one on "encore", an otherwise great song....... yeah let me hate on eminem some more: you would think that for a guy who doesnt do the keys or bass, who has pros doing it, could come up with a better melody the ones he does, basically just playing the scales back and forth, big wow.... and how about trying to do something besides the same "kick-snare-kick-kick-snare-scratch pattern. its gettin old already. it cannot be that difficult when you got pro studio musicians doing it for you.

and so when all of you start telling me i am a hater, and hes making money and i'm not, , stop and think about the fact that if he put the SAME EXACT BEATS ON THIS SITE IN A COMP OR THE SHOWCASE, we would all hae the same critiques on them, and you know it. he wouldnt win jack in a comp. ever. all he would hear is "keep at it. your gettin it, not bad for a beginner on fruity loops" mediocre at the VERY BEST , and you all know it.

great album, the last cut is amazing to me..... and the Public Service announcement was just sick....

as far as jaylib, well these too should not rap, ever, on anything, especially when madlib is doing his retarded quasimoto alter ego, because they destroyed a classic beat on "the red" by their lame rhymes..... oh yeah, madlib likes to brag aboiut how he uses only an sp 505 but the cover has the motif rack and xv 5050 along side an mpc 3000, which is more than likely jay dee's........ but for the most part the album sounds like it was done on an sp 505, alright .the engineering wasnt"grimey" but sounded more like "poor quality" than anything else.......plus, what the hell are they thinking about drum kits? some of the snares sound like the throw away scrapes you get from ebay....all in all the album was a big let down, although the cut with kweli was live but the hook was lame (as usual with this album) "i like it, i love it, that raw $i%&" but it was still ok... anyhow i got to get going... give a brotha some feedback.

threat was let down in a major way. hte beawt is nice and all but 1. 9th wonders skits are a little irritating, but kind of funny... the beat is plain, i think. i have heard MUCH better from 9th than this, and to put this on the black album, one of the truly great artists that we will ever see, love em or hate em, and his finale (albeit doubtful) at that.... it just made no sense. i could have made that beat on my mpc in 10 minutes, no joke.

not that it was bad, mind you... just anti-climactic.

as far as the "what more can i say" well, i have the original track that was done with biggie on it on a tony touch tape from what seems like a decade ago...... it was cool but this one is WAY better and jay snapped hard on it.. i think he made a reference to em on it, subliminally, but thats just conjecture. i know he makes points about 50... he's kind of pissed that after all he has done- wuite abit when youo think about it- at such a high level for so long, and he doesnt get his proper due.... if it was sold twice i highly doubt the other cat came half as nice.... sucks to be that man.

any thoughts on jaylib?

The one track, (forget what it is,) where he's talkin about his dad, and how he's not mad at him is TIGHT. I was feelin' that shit, he definently said what he was tryin to say with the right wordplay. Talkin about how his dad failed as a hustler, and his uncle died tryin, but HE succeeded, and he's not mad at his dad for gettin caught up in the drugs and not bein there for him. I seriously think Jay-Z went out with a bang... to all of his closest fans. He really just said what he needed say, and made it a short album. I give it an 8 out 10 - I respect Jay-Z, and I think this album is DEFINENTLY better than the G-Unit, OR Grand Champ.
