Just Came From Remix Hotel!!

Just came back from the 1st day of the Remix Hotel Suite up in Manhattan and boy must I say: IT WAS OFF THE HOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1st off, the panels that they held were informative and funny. Im a newbie to this production game and all but, just image sitting next to Needlz as he explains what insipers him with production got my creative mind buzzing. Or just imagine a large room with a projector screen and a moderator teaching on Pro Tools and multiple software implementation.

Just imagine walking through a floor with brand new equiptment and software that you can test out and play with is in every other room just waiting to be tested out. ALL DAY ALMOST!!!!

The newbie in me stayed in the Akai room for most of my time there while jumping in and out of the Reason 3.0 presentation room, the M-audio trigger finger and controller room and into a store that sells equiptment for a cheap price. There’s something about reading up on certain products on these forums and playing with them in person that helps me appreciate you guys here at illmuzik more and more. BY THE WAY, THE MPC 1000 CANT TIMESTRETCH, BUT ITS FUN AS HELL TO MAKE A HIP HOP TRACK ON!!

All in all, I just want to say to all of you guys here at illmuzik: IF YOUR IN TOWN YOU SHOULD ATTEND BEFORE THE WEEKEND IS UP. ITS FREE!!!!!!!!

FOR ALL OF YOU AKAI MPC 2000XL LOVERS: I SPOKE WITH AN AKAI REPRESENTATIVE (NOT A PRODUCT PRESENTER) AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE 2000XL IS GETTING AN UPGRADE. I ASKED HIM " WHAT DO YOU MEAN AND UPGRADE, CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT IT IS EXACTLY?"
hE TRIED TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT, THEN i ASKED HIM WAS IT A USB CONNECTION PLACED ON THE 2000XL LIKE THE 1000 AND HE SAID YES..

yo sup man. i was @ remix hotel yestertday also.. i had on a red long sleeve girbaud tee shirt and blue yankee cap.. was in the vestax room half the day.. me and my boys took it over and we had a jam session.. if u going thru today holla @ me man hit me up@ djfantom( at) tmail( dot) com goes str8t to my sidekick... im mad i missed most of the classes and panels but ima do all them today.. get there early.. ima post up some pics i took later...

Akai is trying to stay afloat in this highly competetive industry where everyone wants a hardware feel and access to millions of sounds.

Thats what it should mean.

But it seems kinda iffy to me.

THEY REALLY SHOULD LOWER THEIR PRICES BECAUSE TO SOFTWARE COMP IS STIFF. AND BESIDES THAT, PEOPLE ARE JACKIN SOFTWARE ON THE REGULAR --NOT PAYING AT LEAST A $1,000 ON EQUIPMENT THAT DOESNT HAVE ALOT OF USABLE SOUNDS ON IT.
