Ive realised what music is lacking these days.... Hippies, music needs more hippies, the best sample material.

Music @2GooD Productions is lacking many things, main thing is community. This was real integral to Black music such as funk, soul, Gospel, R&B, etc. and that made early Hip Hop intriguing. The community aspect was how we got Michael Jackson, Stevie, Aretha, every damn legend that went on to attain whatever people thought of as success. That community aspect is how Black musicians of prior eras learned as the holy trinity was community, schools and Church(es).

Yep, everybody is about themselves now. Social media has created a whole generation of self obsessed, entitled people that cannot handle the truth of reality so they hide in their little bubbles, protected from words that hurt them they go through life oblivious to what is really going on. But that aside.

Think about it, since the 60's and the hippy movement, some of the greatest music was made to this day, some of the best sample material that made "modern" and sampled music something worth doing, the number of hippies has declined as with the decline so has the quality of sample material, which is fuel for especially hip hop and now many other music genres. Hip hop wouldnt be a thing if it wasnt for the great original music that was morphed by dj's and samplers into what we call hip hop.
Hip hop lost its way as the years went by, without great source material, its hard to have great hip hop.

Music today is just everyone trying to sound the same.

Every week here we must hear the same exact trap/drill track from multiple people; you hear the same exact 808 slide playing the same note and same pattern with the same panning on about 5 different tracks. Same goes for the hihats too. At this point I'm not even sure if people are programming their own stuff or just using "hihat roll sample_04" and just dragging n dropping their tracks together like Hip-Hop eJay back in the day.

I got nothing against trap either, I like it. But a lot of that drill stuff is unmemorable. Like at least do something unique with it, make a melody or hooks that people will remember the beat. Change it from just some beat to a 'record' or 'song'. It don't have to be complex nor have lyrics to achieve this.

I know it ain't easy to just 'sound unique' but even if your stuff is sounding samey or 'type beat' try drop something cool in it. Not just noise/sound.

Took the words out of my mouth, couldnt agree more. People used to try and sound different, now everybody wants to sound the same. Since sites like arcade, a lot of producers use loops to produce. To me thats cheating, cheating yourself of learning the art behind the loop. I always was impressed with what I thought I came up with on hip hop ejay at the start of my music making career, but always knew I was just throwing premade stuff together and didnt like it, felt dirty.

If more people were hippes then they wouldnt be so self obsessed, would be free with the love and more community orientated. Answer: More hippies. We need a new hippy movement, Ill bring weed.

I'll @2GooD Productions bring a Chevy van, but we @Fade need less drugs as majority of the public is overmedicated enough to the point of addiction as society needs more holistic medicine w/actual proven benefits and relating it to music the dummy drugs are why today's (c)rappers got the drool mouth flow and dead stare; education wise music educators need to reach potential students w/what they dig and stop being elitist, classist, etc. and yes to free love, but with diaphragms and condoms :)

Everyone @Iron Keys sounds alike because there is little financial reward in being musically risk-taking. I don't equate access to music making tech as having automatic skill which is what majority get wrong as people are seduced by ads that come off like musical infomercials e.g. "level up with these chords, you don't really know music and don't wanna? Good! Here's a scale/chord plugin-thing-a-ma-jig, sub below so you too can get the bag."

I @Fade only do the lyrical and/or vocal lines, not the white. Equal opportunity regarding strippers as ya gotta bring the male dancers in 'cause I'm gonna bring the Benjamins on some
