INSTRUMENTAL MIXTAPES, THING OF THE PAST? What Are Your Thoughts

im curious if a instrumentals mixtape is worth anyone's time anymore...could use some opinions from people with some experience in this marketing strategy.

Well I just put one out earlier this month unless you've already seen it on the homepage, so my opinion may not matter. I would say if you plan on doing it, go ahead and do it. Don't really have anything to lose if you do.

theres always a demand for lofi cassette releases in the corner of soundcloud that roam in...so yeah its still going on but just not in the mainstream I guess

also id say get hooked up with an indie label...the one im working with handles everything from the artwork to the shipping and dubbing...all i had to do on my first release was make the beats and send them to the guy that runs the label...pretty simple setup
