Gettin new samples is definitely good advice. Also listen to a lot of music. Then, if you want, you can try to add a new instrument track to somebody else's beat. For instance, listen to one of tupac's songs, and try to add something to it. Then take your new addition and make a whole new song out of it. A lot of times you can create a variation of someone else's melody that can't really be traced back to the beat and goes perfectly well with a whole new beat. It may seem cheap, but just think of it as a creative way to sample.

i hear ya...

i learned that i work best musically in the morning. at night, my attention span narrows, (except when i'm by myself)....

Also, for me, i try to listen to things outside of what i'm making. kind of a change of scenery as you may call it....

When this happens to me I listen to like some old 60's and 70's music. This helps me get my head together. It also give me ideas. I start listening and thinkg about how they made these great old songs with so little equipment. Sometime I go by one of my friends house and listen to some of the music they make.
