yo, cop the 1000. you'll have fun with it. It is worth the cash, and since you are a comp user, you will easily be able to integrate it into your setup.

JUST DO IT.

Yes and so is the MPC1000 lmao

whats the point of getting either ?

You better off with a midi controller/mpd and battery 2.0

score 1 to dason...a good quality midi controller and good software these days destroys the power of an mpc.....and infact with a good quality midi controller, and some knowledge of your software it is really somewhat easier to throw early ideas together aswell.....i dont see how using an mpc could touch a novation x station, a sampler, a drum sampler, and a good production program....plus you get much better sound out of something like an x-station

Dont turn this into a software is better then hardware B.S. It all comes down to persnal perfernce. A sequncer is a sequncer regardless. Hardware and software have strenghts and weaknesses.

Dude, try out the MPC yourself instead of asking other peoples opionions, ur the one who is going to have to use it.

yea, try it yourself.

I have battery, kontakt, and all those software samplers, but i like having something external to compliment my software...

Plus, I HATE switching windows for different progs..

But yea, stop the hating, they both kick ass.

it is all opinions. I started off with the mpc 2000xl and learnt alot about sequencing and midi with it and a few analog synths i then changed to computer setup with sonar 4 and a digital drum kit and full size keyboard controller....... the mpc 1000 is cool but me i would probably buy another mic as i am happy with computer stuff

sorry if it came off sounding like that....i was just stating my opinion...and personally im all for hardware....im just anti mpc's....in my opinion there are thousands of better pieces of kit than it....this was my original point...even the base piece of hardware in any studio(the keyboard controller) if quality, does the job better than it.....ofcourse he should try it out himself, but he was asking a question...and i thought i should give the answer i came to realise myself
