Just came across this thread searchin for another 1. First I know im maaaaad late But welcome to Brooklyn HOLMZ 2nd you don't have to have a mpc to be in the bangin beats comps. I've been to several of em dat they have @ a spot I used to dj @ in Brooklyn. You do need some kinda portable beat makin equipment tho like a laptop if u r software based cause 1 part of the comp is to make a beat on the fly with a sample they give you. But there were mad dudes there with laptops and Reason and even fruityloops. Oh And Kingston and what you live @ ? Im acouple stops from the Kingston/throop stop on the C train .

Werd man yeah you ahop skip and ajump from me man. I never been in the comps cause I use reason 2.5 and I don't have alap top. I used to dj @ 5spot where they had (still have?) the comps. Yo if you lookin for open mics to network there's agood 1 @ Brown Chocolate Cafe on Fulton st between franklin and clasoon Franklin ave stop on c train. Every tuesday nite. I frequented in the summer but now im back to work so no goin out on a week nite . But I mite hit it up every now and then.. ...... Holla @ me on aim sn djfantom im on 24/7 on my sidekick.
