Im going to Africa

If you haven’t heard already im going to Kampala, Uganda in 2 weeks. (10 day stay)

For those that don’t know me personally I love to travel, I try to go to at least 2 places a year. This year I already went to London, so Africa is my second major trip of 04.

Africa is different though man. This is like a pilgrimage to me, its crazy when you think about it, Im the first person in my family to travel to Africa since my ancestors were brought over during the slave trade. America is all my family and I have ever known. That’s some real shit!!

Im kind nervous also, Im a seasoned traveler, but going to Uganda is a different animal, I 'm pretty sure I have all my bases covered(staying with exchange family, got all my shots, etc..) but still I don’t know what to expect.

What are some things that yall would do if yall were in my situation??? Any feedback or advice would be helpful

P.S. Just to show you how small this world is, Uganda is originally where afrique is from so he has been schooling me on the culture

Thas pretty kewl man, just enjoy the experience, make sureyou take as much as possible in, i know when you go to these places you always come back thinking i wished id done that or i wish id done this but just cram as much in as you can i guess !

As I've said before my girlfriend is from Senegal, West Africa, she hasn't been home since we got together but in 8/2005 we are planning a trip, It's a place filled with contradictions, fun, and danger, watch your surroundings, be careful what you eat, and have a safe, fun, and educational time, take some tissue you will cry a few times while you're there!

My advice would be to have a great time. See as much as you can (safely). Do as much as you can. And experience!! If you really bring some samples, as tricky said, yo! do it! Get some local artist records, you never! See if they have an hiphop scene there.

Are you going in a big city, a small suburb or a village? Do you have connections there?

I will be stayin in a major city with friends who live there. We will be travlling to differnt towns and suburbs. Im looking foward to absorbing the culture.
