Yeah, I posted in his thread that was asking for free beats without reading the post he made and then later apologized to him through e-mail saying sorry that I didn't read the thread correctly and told him that I'm not givin away free beats and he claimed I made some type of "digital contract" with him just through the emails we sent back and forth.

LOL this dude is tryna sue me now.

See...I study 'contract law' (in general). In all reality, I could take you to court right now over 'breach of contract'. You simply gave me a perfect situation by breaching. Didn't think we had a contract? Well, according to the UCC, which governs the majority of comercial transactions in this country...

I wouldn't worry about a thing. You're not 18 yet, therefore, you can not enter into a legally binding contract. This guys a fool/liar and he's not trying to sue you, he's threatening you.

I think this is a good lesson though, because if you ever get really serious about the music business, some type of legal counsel is necessary.

LMFAO. That guy is an idiot. lmfao. You could probably file some sort of Extortion case based on that little threat alone. If he really knew anything about US business law he wouldnt be making threats. haha, he probably was watching some cop tv show and decided to use that to muscle a free beat. if anything, you should put ur beat up for mp3 download, but clearly state that it is not free to use. and update ur CC copywrite lisence forbidding him to use it. Then the temptation will get to him and he will download it and use it. and probably be fool enough to put it on his soundclick. then You can sue Him. for copyright infringement, haha.

I dunno if that'll work seein how i just made that scenario up, but sounds like a plan to me.

holla back

Dude hit me up through e-mail asking for free beats and this man seems like he's in some serious trouble finicially(don't know if it's legit though) and I'm not a mean dude and wanna help him out but at the same time, I'm lookin at the business aspect of it as well. I'm not sure if I should give it to him for free to use this as a promotion opportunity or just wave him off? If you guys wanna see the e-mail, I'll give a link to it.

Class made a good point but there are alternatives. You may not make money but the promotion is money in the bank so to speak. Comeup with a contract giving him non-exclusive rights with a offer to buy. Simple. Done. Nextel.

I been trying to, but seems like he just wants a free beat.

Yeah it seems like he's gone so it's all good. Thanks for the input everybody, this helped me learn something new about the business aspect of music. Much appreciated.

Seoul what did you say to him to cause such a reaction?? I personally dont think he was threatening you, but rather making you aware of the "bad" position that you were potentially putting yourself in. That is assuming he wasnt making that stuff up. Lol that was pretty interesting though

^LOL, that's all I said and he claimed we made some type of contract by me posting a link to my soundclick in his thread for free beats which I later apologized for.
