I think I wasted my computer.

had a chance to put together a nice rig, a monster compared to the one I used to have, which crapped out on me a long time ago. LSS, here's my specs

Intel Core i5 @ 3.50GHz
16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 816MHz (10-10-10-27)
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Z97-A (SOCKET 1150)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (ASUStek Computer Inc)
465GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500G (SSD)
1863GB Seagate ST2000DX001-1CM164 (hybrid)
1863GB Seagate ST2000DM001-1CH164 (hybrid)

So my old PC died and life just changed enough to allow a new one so I got these components but I think in my haste to get back on the beats I built it in a less than desirable array.

maybe I should stripe the hybrids or something. I just got a 3TB hdd I could use for storage...
idk, if I rebuild this pc and start over again will the ssd bounce back like an hdd or will it suffer from all the writing? do I just delete the files or format them or leave them alone?

it's running and it's stable so I don't want to introduce problems with an unneeded teardown, but I seriously can't ignore the possibility that I rushed and wasted my components on an inferior set up compared to their potential.

Any help?
thanks in advance fellas

yes sir. my experience too! last ext I owned came out the shell and landed in my tower with the quickness...

That resource you linked was pretty smooth, but didn't provide exactly what I need.
maybe I can clarify and make more sense...
With the components I have in this box I think I should be able to see better performance I think I might have rushed the build and although it's working and putting up decent numbers, I want to be sure I don't leave anything on the table.

not so much that it isnt working, but I wonder if it couldn't work better... benchmarks don't tell the full story...

ok, Raid 0 will increase my access speeds to nearly double according to a few sites I've perused, especially with these twin hybrids I should see almost Hollywood PC type speeds, but I didn't build it in Raid, they are installed in standard mode.

My OS is on the ssd, but maybe I should have split my programs from my OS, and sent my music programs to a third hybrid leaving my ssd completely free for the basic operation of the hardware. I feel like I know just enough to make a bad mistake if overconfident and that's why I might be overly cautious.

Most of the issues I have now are with software if they can be called issues at all, and really the biggest question of all is this; how will an ssd react to being formatted? Does that cut the lifespan as drastically as some suggest? Yeah with normal use an ssd should last the life of the computer, but I don't expect normal use and I hope to get at least six or seven years out of this rig, I want it to be terribly outdated before I throw any more money at a toy computer.

I am here to answer any questions that will help me get my answers, thanks for helping.
