Man im at the Point where i just dont no wat 2 do im 19 i started making beats when i was 15 in Acid and soundforge i was living at my Popz Crib had 2 end up movin back wit my momz Never really lost INterest in beatz I Just DIdint have right enviorment NE wayz
ive started up again i find acid 2 corny and some friends i do no that make beats use fruity loops or reason so i figure acid is good for nothin

when makin samples i use Sound forge for some reason i keep hearin madd headz talkin bout cool edit wats da diff ?

Heres where my problems come in i'll make a nice melody loop take it 2 fruity loops and it just aint sounding right the sample ends up overlaping its self well i found out that u must click cut off ive done that but then its cuttin off like half of the sample I also changed the tempo only way the sample can play threw most of times is 2 increase the track from 16 2 32 or a little more . and when i get the sample 2 play threw using the fruity loop drums 2 match up with the melody is even more frustrating

i dont have the funds for a mpc at the moment i will be getting reason 2.5 soon hopefully but i really just need some input from da pros especially when it comes 2 sampling and matching the sample up nicely with the beats also if u can recommend me using any other programs from wat im using now well i hope i dont sound like a total idiot i hope u guyz can help me out

thanx for having the patients 2 read my post 1 yoO0

Hey,

1. Sound Forge is only a wave editor. Cool Edit Pro is a wave editor AND multitrack recorder in one program. Both great programs, you get more features with CEP. Keep in mind that Cool Edit no longer exists, it is now called Audition, made by Adobe Software.

2. If your melody sample overlaps itself when you trigger it in FL, you either need to not trigger it so often, or you need to slow down the tempo of the track so that the sample runs out before a new one starts.

Yes, this is very frustrating, especially if you're new to playing with samples...it's a real art getting music from different sources (like other samples and drum machines) and getting everything to line up. Stick with it and you'll get there :D

Take care,

Nick

Hey man hang in there, even with a new hardware piece you are going to have some headaches....and you won't have it mastered in even a week a or two....master the art of sequencing and start out with small chopped samples and maybe you'll get consistent enuff, the thing is you need to get comfortable with whatever you are working with to consistently make tracks easily so you have to practice and each time try a new technique with your sequencing...
