would it be worth it or would i be better off looking to get an MPC 1000, which i have been told are alot better?

how much is that in euro? do not get the mpc1000, my flatmate had one for 2 years and the pads are a pain in the ass. they break every now and then and you have to send it to akai. repair takes about a month. plus the feeling of the pads is not comparable to that of other mpcs. they even offer pad upgrades now (for 200$).

only advantage is you can connect it to your pc via usb. if you realy need that, id suggest saving another 500 bucks and getting the 2500.
i had the 1000 and 2000xl side by side at home for some time and saving samples to sd drive for the 2000xl
was not that time consuming compared to transferring via usb to the 1000.

if you want it portable, go with the 1000.
if its about usb connection, get the 2500.
if the options are 2000xl vs. 1000 id always go with the classic.
