ok, here's the deal, i got a tubepre, an nt1a, and an audio delta 1010 soundcard

I have the mic going into the preamp, the preamp going into a condenser jack that's comes out of the sound card

no matter what volume controls I fuck with...whether it be the gain or drive on the preamp, or the controls on the audio control panel software that comes with teh sound card, or the windows audio controls....i can't do anything to adjust the recording volume on the mic......in other words all my tracks regardless of compression come out clipped.....any suggestions?

i have winxp pro btw, i use cooledit/goldwave for vocal processing, waves platinum....i don't think this matters, but any help is appreciated..thanks.

Hey,

Are you using the Delta1010 (which has a BIG breakout box), or the Delta1010LT (which has an octopus cable)? Are you plugged into the fancy XLR cables, or into the normal 1/4" jacks?

In the Delta control panel, make sure to set it to 'monitor inputs' in one of the pages (I forget which one exactly).

Take care,

Nick
