I'm sure it will work I was gonna hum a baseline throw it in my mpc1k match the tempo put some synths behind it we should try it lol

u would have to get close to th mic but not close u don't want the mic to pick up ur heavy breathing or that hmphhh feel a bit of eq n low pass ur alright

I have hummed basslines in the cell phone to remind myself that I needed to play it later and how, but not into the mic per-se.
Its a good idea.

well, rahzel from the roots did an album or two, where he pretty much did the entire beat vocally. he hums his basslines as well as horns and keys

hell yea his voice went perfect wit it lol

I beat box beats and then "trace" them. But I haven't hummed baselines.

I can't remember the song but I know Kanye has a track where he sampled and vocoded himself to make a main melody. So he basically used his voice as an instrument.

Or you could try to make a hummed bassline (like a soundfont...) that way, you'll also be able to do glides and add vibrato...
