I got a yamaha s03 hooked up thru midi, and use it as a midi controller. I wanna use some of the sounds on there, since it is a pretty nice synth after all, but i don't know how.

Do i have to just plug the outs into the ins of my mixer and just record the audio? Is there a way that i can have the sounds controlled thru midi (like a VST) in case i want to change a note or some shit?

lemme know. been wonderin bout this for a minute

That sounds like it'll let you do the vst thing...but im not entirely sure..if not then yes you'll sync it via midi in your sequencer and record the audio.

As far as recording the audio thru midi I don't think you go back
and change notes because it will be audio.(Wav file)

What you could do is use that program Samplebot.
I think that is what it is called.
You can sample any preset or patch that you have on hardware.
Then later just use a software sampler to play it.Maybe even the
a in Reason.

I check it out for more info for you.

It is called SampleRobot.

I think a few of the members of AF have tryed out too.

you can only do it if your keyboard has both midi in and out

you connect the in of your keyboard to the out of the soundcard
and the out of your keyboard to the in of the soundcard

then in your sequencer load up a midi channel
set the input to the midi channel that your keyboard is connected too
this allows you to record midi data with your keyboard

next you need to set the midi data you record to trigger the sounds on your keyboard
so the output of your midi channel is sending data to your keyboard thru the soundcards out and to the in port of your keyboard this will trigger your keyboard sounds eventually when you want to finish your song you really need to record the audio anyway tho otherwise each time you want to play your song you need to load up all the right sounds on your keyboard !
