That's a lot of work just to steal a groove. I think it would go faster just time stretching that loop to the tempo of your track and beating the drums over it with no quantization. If you're penciling in the beat like you were I guess this is the way to go.
SliceX by image line does this as well. It does it a little more detailed, faster and more accurate I think.
Still good knowledge for the Recycle users.
