That's basically because of traffic, that's all. It's definitely not due to actual content because we beat them on all levels. But whatever, I saw that listing a while ago and I didn't pay attention to it really. Why do I care what it's worth? I'm not selling the site!
If they knew what I and and several of you know, they would add quite a few zero's to that number...ILLMUZIK has saved me that amount of money in less than six months alone. SERIOUSLY!
You can't really put a price on sentimental values. You can't put a price on bringing cats from all over the world together at one spot. You can't put a price on the friendships, collabs and projects that ILL has created over the years...IMO, that site is worth...$0.00.

#1 and #2 would be allhiphop.com and sohh.com in terms of hip-hop- both are/were slightly over a million, although both were the victim of a hacker plot to take both sites down.
Sohh.com lost a LOT of traffic and allhiphop shut down its wildly successful forums so i don't know if that impacted value.
global grind should catch them soon if they stick around because of its digg-like concept for hip-hop.
Those stats are pretty useless and only relevant for 2 reasons:
#1 - If you plan to sell the site to some corporate entity who doesn't have a clue about content actually driving a great site.
#2 - If you are in a relationship w/ a guy/girl who is totally opposed to you spending hours per week updating a site.
You can tell him or her "According to statistics, my site is worth $10,000 which we're gonna use to take that vacation (or buy purse, shoes, diamonds) you always wanted"
