Lol thats like me I probably got 500 Reason Files with Just 8 Bar loops or a 16 Bar Verse I duno why but after a While I get Bored and I somethin I thought sounded Dope is startin 2 sound Boring and Dull and moretimes I dont come back too shit for that Reason. But with Sampled beats I find it Easier to Finish one in about a Hr to get The First Sequence down and then another 4 or 5 hrs of goin over shit changin things makin new sequences new Drum Patterns an so on

GYEA CAMPO, I'm glad you're feelin me ahaha thats cool though. I'm in the same boat as you are I have like over 300 reason files too most of it arent even finished. Maybe when ever I have time i will go back and finish then, but u kno what? I just hate loading up Reasin files because it takes a lil while to load up. That is one of the reason why I don't bother finishing them files man. I hate loading shit up I'm so god damn impatient HAHAH.

takes me about

10min - 1hour to finish most beats just estimating i dont really sit and time myself but its no more than 1hr.

Really easy when you workin with artist though/can think in an Artist's Space and ahve the right sounds ready to go

I definetly agree with you about working with an artist. When i work with someone, my ideas just come out quick. Rahter than just sitting alone in the basement by myself and tryin to think of suttin creative. But then again it depends on my mood too... but i feel ya.

Well, I mostly sit down with nothing and after a while I'd have something that could be called a beat.

But as Alchemist says, the beat ain't finished until you have someone rapping over it. So I have no beats that I call "finished".

Depends on my mood and what kinda beat it is.

If its a dope sample im using and im inspired - no longer to make and mix the beat - 15 minutes

If its a composition - almost always 30 minutes to get the concept down - and an hour or 2 to polish it up.

word ....... i spend anywhere from 10 - 45 minutes on a track ...... just make the beat ... no drops or nothing like that.... when an artists likes the beat .... then i take a lil more time fucin wit it and adding drops, intros and outros and shit ..... but really it dont take long at all... as ive gotten smarter and more experinced i know what i want my beats to sound like and what to do to make them sound like that so its nuttin to have a finished track polished and ready from start to finish in under an hour....

I think depending on the person...

A person can finish a particular beat in a few hours (mixing/eq)

But different beats require more/less time..depending on the complexity....

i would say the beats where i compose take longer during the actual making of the beat...but when i sample it takes at least an hour to get the sample chopped and ready
an hour? that is long for that part of the process..

It really depends on how fast you're trying to get it done and what kind of beat you're making. A regular sample with drums (looped) 5 minutes to an hour. If you're creating a song from scratch (playing the parts on a keyboard) anywhere from 2 hours to 3 days. Generally, it will take as long as it takes.

I've been producing for about a year and now that my beats are getting better it usually takes about 5hrs to make a complete beat, that includes mastering. Usually I go back for a coupledays and make adjustments. Just take ya time. Main thing don't force your self. If you can only make a beat a week than stick to that as long as its hot!

about two days for me. First day is making the beat, second day is mastering in Adobe Audition. i like to take things slow.
