if you are talking midi then you will need a midi card for your computer. if you are talking about sending from the outputs of the mpc then you will need a soundcard with inputs on it also a recording program like cubase, cool edit, sonar, ect. on your computer.

Get an
Edirol - UA-1A 16-bit USB Analog Audio Interface

this is the adapter I bought after I got my MP. (it's not a midi adapter, it's for sending audio tracks from mpc to computer). It's CHEAP($70), it has a usb plug and it works fine with windows.

they have it at sam ash.
if you plan on expanding, get something with more inputs like a mixer or a new soundcard.

as stated you need a midi cable and a program that will allow you to sync the MPC......once you do that you can use the computer to control the mpc after you made your track.......use the transport in the program...(protools, sonar, cubase or nuendo) and press play or punch and it will start the playback of the track you select (solo the track or mute the ones you don't want) then it will record each one to the computer so you can mix it down.......if you want to control the mpc from software that has a piano roll or sequencer to also use the midi cables....midi out to midi in......

ok i dont know anything about mpcs so my opinion might be totally useless but from what i think youd be better off buyin a zip drive for yur pc that way you can take exactly what you hear on your mpc machine onto your pc, if u run the mpc into the audio inputs of yur pc you might have to reequalize all your shit

inspectah wu- actually MPC's save audio in their own format called a .snd file, so that file couldn't transfer to a computer. Whats wierd is that an MPC can import .wav files from a PC, but ounce its used in the MPC the MPC saves it in .snd format.

this question is way too open ended. what do you want to get out of connecting your computer and mpc. do you just want to mix down mpc tracks or do you want to sequence soft synths with your mpc etc. ??
