Just wanted to know if anybody could help me try and re-create this synth lead that you hear from the clip below. I'm using reason 3 so anything related to vst's would be useless for me as i only have reason.

Any help would be good as i can't seem to get anything near it, thanks.

i've never used the portamento before, how much is usually used for a lead similar to the one in the clip do you know?

i never realized this before but i'm pretty sure all that westcoast synth really is is a portamento sine wave, maybe with a little ring modulation...i would go with subtractor for that, but maybe nova or a more experienced reason head can help you out. as far as how much man you just gotta experiment, the values are different on every synth

i'll test it out to see the effect that it gives, think it changes the pitch does'nt it? do you happen to know how to get leads sounding more thicker as all the ones i have been learnin' with have quite a thin sound maybe just the octave i've had them on.

the pitch change is what portamento is, it has a pitch bend built in when you change notes...if you need thick sound hit up the combinator, single patches probably won't do it for you.

To get a thicker sound detune the second OSC by 7 or 12 cents
