i just wanted to fill yall in on my plans fo my rap/producin career. i just finished my first single shoot dem up (you can check it out on my soundclick) its a club type dancehall ish song. i have mutual connection to this jamaican Dj that works up at foxxy 99.1 (NC) Im gonna try and get the song (and my name) circulatin in my area, and hope someone calls me to do a show. but this is the only song i have done.

so my question is should i wait until i get a couple more songs done to bring it to the radio station or should i just go for it now.

im workin on an album and i know that hot singles sell albums so im tryna get some good singles out on da radio so i can hit the streets and sell ouut the trunk. then hope to get the attention of some big names.

You should wait until you've got a few more songs....Maybe try to do some local concerts or somthin to get some buzz goin. I wouldnt try to take anything to the radio until you've got some sort of street credibility. Good luck!

hot singles sell artists. it depends on the type of album and if it has a consistent number of singles on it that will sell the album v. a free (and illegal) mp3 download.

I think you should definitely focus on crafting your song as a marketable single. If you have more, you can then use those to promote yourself further, or use it as a leverage option in a possible negotiation (though those singles better be very good!)

Definitely have like five joints, and two OH SHHIEET jumpoffs to secure your spot. You only get 1 chance to make a first impression, so do it right.

yea. ppl wanan see consistency. u rarely see one hit wonders nowadays. dat died out when da industry started lookin fo artists wit stories. nowadays ppl wanna grow wit an artist. dats y artists like 50 cent make it so big regardless of their talent.
