What kind of radio you listen to? Don't blame it on rappers if you listenning to crap ass radio stations, there's plenty of radio station that air underground shit.

I am with you on that...I kept Ready to Die, Illmatic, and the Geto Boys on continuous rotation. Along with the Wu-Tangs Enter the 36 Chambers. By the way, where the fuck is the WU? Shit is getting boring though, havent heard some new shit since College Dropout.

You right, but as of right now, hip-hop is boring. Outkast was hot in 2004. The album has died down now. I think with Common shit coming out, mouth to mouth will be performed on hip-hop. :shoot:

addressing some issues:

I dont think Outkast can carry the cross for hip hop all alone... I mean yeh they are great artists but their latest album wasnt nothin ground breaking (to me)

about Common's album - i thought that was meant to be a boring album? thats only what iv heard so i wont it judge until i hear it.

Kanye's next album will have an impact, but not like the College Dropout. The College Dropout was the last album i have been really into, but that might be because i make beats.

and Bastard, about the safe thing, you ask ''what the fuck is that about'', i ask what is your name about?

^^^um new outkast is on its way.

bastard..... if the station says its "the only place for blazin hip hop and rnb..." thats your first clue that your going to hear the same 20 songs by the same 15 artists ALL the time.

i mean, all this is subjective of cours, but some of you that are sayin hip hop is boring, you also seem to limit your hip hop intake to mtv/clear channel stations. thats it. whatever the new trend is, thats what your hip hop is limited to. go check out some live shows by a local artist. check for people you have never really listened to.

my grandma used to tell me, if you are bored, then you must be a boring person, because people who arent boring can always find something to entertain them. perhaps the problem isnt hip hop- perhaps, with some of you, the problem is that you limit yourself to the MASSIVE amount of artists, shows, events, and CULTURE thats out there. if ya'll dig that clear channel sound, hey thats cool, do you, but if you are limiting yourself to that and you are complaining about being bored....

the thing that shocks me here is that we are all artists... we DO THIS, we ARE hip hop, hell we're all PRODUCERS- meaning in all ACTUALITY we are the ones who make this, who give mc's an outlet to spit, who are supposed to be the trained ears to get the best out of any mc, we have that power, and if you are an artist and hip hop is boring to you... man that tells me you arent excercising that power- that tells me that you got to get on that grind, start meeting people, go to shows, start working on something of substance, get your name out, make connections, cause thats where i am at and THAT is VERY exciting.

edit: rythmical, what do you mean, "commons album was meant to be a boring album"????? who on earth told you that? the huge buzz is that this will be a trend setting album, all the magazines are calling it classic or near classic, most fans love it and a few people like me like it a lot.... you'll be hard pressed to find negative reviews of it... so i am very suprised that thats all you have heard, because the buzz is quite the opposite.

this point could also be flipped the other way because if you are bored of hip hop, then it means you are an 'exciting' person because you like things to be active and progressive, whereas if you are all fine and dandy with the current situation, then you are just a person who gets on with whatever is there.

jus an idea.

^^^ i see that point

HOWEVER

would an exciting/progressive person be limiting their intake of hip hop to the stuff that the politically/trend motivated media outlets supply them with?

because the people that saying they are bored, that seems to be their m.o....

But what if that is all there is hear is the politacally/trend motivated media outlets? Where i am from that is all you hear my nigga. These cats down here are imitating what they see and hear, na mean. I live in all black town where the population is a little under 1500. Where everybody know everybody. You dont see cats down here trying to be different and rap about different stuff. Its always woodgrind gripping, still tipping and sipping.....(boring). Now if I was in a big city where there is different kind of hip-hop, I am pretty sure I wont be bored with all the underground shit popping off.

its funny.....while cats complain that there is no good hiphop out these days, im swimming in piles and piles of dope albums.

I know what you mean....there are loads of indie labels out there [and more underground artists on major labels] putting out some dope stuff. Maybe you won't find it on mtv, but it really isn't hard to find good hiphop....I agree that mainstream hiphop at the moment is stagnent, but I can't say hiphop is boring I've always got something to listen to.

nah see you are on the INTERNET man. that means, you have access to the entire world-illmuzik is a microcosm of that.

get something like raphsody- its like 7 bucks a month and yuo get thousands of albums to listen to, each is can be downloaded for 79 cents apiece. you can look under every concievable genre of hip hop.... with all the p2p programs and dedicated websites.... man there is A LOT of stuff out there to check out EASILY.

so, that said, i hear what you sayin about your town and whatnot, but you can access much more then the mtv/clear channel radio stations..... and at least check out a few cats that you may not have access to through your usual outlets.

Ryth,

I do agree that Hip Hop is at a low point right now, but I don't care if Hip Hop has beef. Actually I think beef takes away from the music. Today, it's just a way to sell records. I never liked Jay too much especially after listening to the acapella version of the Black Album, he may be able to spit off the top of his head but he's not amazing. And Dre will be on top if/when Detox drops.

I'm waiting for Busta to drop his album in July, I'm sure that will be hot! The state of the music right now is probably temporary as life moves in circles.

Commercial Hip Hop is boring. Underground is constantly coming out with shit buddy.

Immortal Technique - Revolutionary Vol. 1 & 2

Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent By Design, Visions of Ghandi, Legacy of Blood

Demigodz - Anything

MF Doom, Viktor Vaughn - Anything (Especially Madvillainy and MM... FOOD)

Listen to these albums and you will be entertained for a long time pal.

Yes i was listening to hiphop even if 2day i'm 17. But your statement about "there ain't verse as crazy as inspecta deck's verse on video", is not really a good one, cuz that verse is known to be one of the best verse of all time PERIOD, video, no video. So don't blame it on hiphop being boring, it's just that you pick one of the best verse of all time for you example which is not a fair thing.
