Most producers I met can are real helpful in the studio as far as vocals go, so i was thinkin in the showcase if I like spit over somethin (original beat or not) you think I could post it and yall give input on what yall think about the vocals. i was thinkin that maybe if we get more serious mc's in here to then we could hook them up with serious producers which equals $$$ and progress what yall think?

thats not a bad idea. it should be a seperate forum that mc's can go into to find producers. i always hit producer boards myself to look for good people to connect with.

sure i say post it in the showcase. but only if you want feedback on the beat as well. recording vocals is a HUGE part of the production process. i might just do the same if everone is cool with that

Sounds good and it's something I've thought about, but I'm looking at it from this point of view:

Having a seperate section of the forums for MC hookups means that there will be nothing but threads with "looking for MC in Queens, check my beats". And how many MC's actually come here? When dealing with these forums, I always start a new section that is really needed. Nobody wants to visit a section that has no posts in it, or posts that are meaningless to them.

If there was a large amount of MC's visiting IllMuzik, then yes it would be good to have a section. And I don't have the time/money to attract MC's to this site right now.

My advice to you guys right now is to post your stuff in the Showcase (this is why it's called "showcase"! LOL), and you try to attract MC's to come here and check your beats. What do you think?

you prpbably have more mc's stoppin by here than you know. would it be possible to try it for like a month or two. i mean the site's name is illmuzik not jus illproducers so the name itself im sure attracts hip hop participants in general (rappers producers listeners anything else)

i agree with you we shouldnt have a place for just "mc hook-ups" that would be wack but we should have a place for mc's and eventually they would hook up.

if you think about it (i think you said you have) its a real real good business move. because you would attract rappers to the site. you could set it up like the showcase. have one part where people want feedback on a verse they wrote (which could be spit over an instrumental) and another thread where people want feedback on completed tracks (original tracks they cut in the studio (this one would also be for producers)) later on it might get so big that you could have a "rap this" contest now that would be fire. but hell im sure its worth tryin for atleast a month just to see how it works out. im sure it would do good.

lets represent hip hop to the fullest, two elements down...two to go!

That will naturaly happen since a lot here are on soundclick too. But a good point, no disrespecting the mc's in here but there are plenty of boards around providing those connections. I could certainly appreciate it, if the focus on producing would remain @ Illmuzik. Unless you rap and produce of course. So good solution.

there are plenty of boards that give that information, but this board is full of producers a.k.a. people that know what they are talkin about not just a lot a kids runnin around sayin yo thats tight or thats wack u feel me? even tho we dont know each other in person, there's a sense of family on this board and this is where i prefer to get my feedback from. im one of those that rap and produce...we could atleast make a thread for vocals/ completed tracks in the showcase.

I think that's pretty gangster... it'll be like two thousand producers breathing down everyone neck, trying to sell shit for cheaper. Then beats will eventually lose their value. Nobody will need to buy a beat if someone's giving them out for free! This site will slowly lead to chaos, people representing all nations including.. Southwest Houston, Baltimore, Van Isle BC, Netherlands, Copenhagen, Crystal Lake and especially Montreal will attempt to become charismatic leaders turning the innocence of these westernized citizens into cult members... yes a cult... hailing to a Hip-hop world order, making it the "music for the people!" We will be leaders, strong leaders at best. Leaving neither a rock unturned... nor a grandparent unconverted....
Anyway... that's what I think!

Hmm actually what i was thinkin with my reply to the post is, if we post the beat, and post the beat with lyrics that we recorded, then we could get feedback on the production teqniques used while recording and mixing.. not a network for selling beats. people should be hittin the streets in there own town for that shit.

Yeah I pretty much feel what yall are sayin when i posted that I forgot about the thousands of people that aint serious and feel cool about bein called a rapper it was just an idea.

I feel the intention so no pun here. fade dropped a suggetsion upon how to do it i theory. I actualy see it as an advantage especialy on working with those skilled to do both. I don't rap but anyone doing both with skill has my props. In this manner I'd be quicker to feel the need to look for an mc, because honestly, I don't really give a shit when I am on SC. Too many mc's not enough creators ( and not enough listeners ) would be the cause. Here though is differenent, no need to prove anything as most of us are skilled and know what they're talking about so I would be happy to collab with anyone diggin my stuff, just don't rush them things, hehe beats go first here! Maybe in a collective manner we should look at how many of us rap, then find producers they want to work with or vice versa. In anyway I would take the time for this in order to chill, you want to spend time on these kind of projects. I'd also suggest that whatever it is as a Illmuzik collective, the outcome should not be related to the forum in case of exploitation. just think of a project name, do the project and leave at that.

maybe we can start by opening a topic on who here is an ALSO mc's. Pick out the best 4 or 5 and ask them with whom they want to work with. in time we could discuss what everything should be based on ( talking lyrics/atmosphere, what it should be like ). let the most votes count and lets stay sportive.

I got plenty of mc's this side of the globe, if anyone would ever want to distribute some beats.... it's just a matter of getting payed and I know how ya'll feel 'bout that I am the same.

all the beat sellin an stuff is coo, but im thinkin more of a feedback type thing. all of us here are generally business minded so the beat buyin an sellin will come naturally and so that could be handled through P.M.'s and not posted in a forum, so basicly what im sayin is that it should be based on FEEDBACK on verses's (one thread) which would be for rappers mostly, and on completed songs (another thread) which would be for everybody (mostly us producers will have our tracks in there im sure) this will REALLY HELP everyone on this site on developin their PRODUCING skills and not just beatmakin. then the buying and sellin can be done in private as i said b4. wut do yall think of that? I'm not clear on what you guys are trying to accomplish really. You're saying you want to post your instrumental, then post it with lyrics on top so you can get feedback on your vocals?

The Showcase is already setup so you can get feedback on your beats, now if there's a seperate thread for just full songs, what's the benefit of that? Just to get feedback? What are you guys saying about attracting MC's and stuff? I'm lost in this topic. LOL.

Whatever the deal is, I say you all discuss it some more while I go on my mini-vacation on Sunday, and when I get back, if you guys aren't killing each other then I'll look at it from a fresh point of view.

it seems that most people here want to keep the site producer based. me too. so if we keep the "new forum" to feedback on all the production side of the lyrical thing then i think everyone will be happy
