I wonder how many of the actual artists run they're own myspace pages..
This is the beauty of the independent undeground, ie us broke asses.
No one owns our product but us...Thus many of us will have no fear of it effecting us...
Truely tho J this may end up backfiring and hurting the majors when it comes to cheap promotion.
Eventually you wont be able to say Game" or "50" without written consent from the label..
How good of word of mouth will that be.
It would seem to me that those who are runnin things have no clue as to how all of this artform started.

Relic I agree 110% this will backfire, Greed drives everything....to any of you that remember or ever posted music on mp3.com( I did) before it was sued circa 98 or 99.....major labels caused that and it became the pay site it is now....only because they saw the profitability of the medium of the internet and wanted to harness it for themselves, the same with Napster.
Labels want to do the same thing once again , the people they are suing are proving the internet works very effectively to propagate music...and at the same time help their fledling, newly signed or promot prospective artists that they might actually sign.

The labels want all of the profits and want to own the rights soley in the long run and rake every dime they can....this is going to be a huge ruling and it will affect all types of copyrights I would keep my eye on this.
