Help analysing time sig / key of track...

Easy, ill brethren.

Trying to remix this track, but for the life of me can't figure out the fuck is going on with any of the song's structure.



All I can work out is its tempo is 84bpm...

Just wondered how y'all cats break down the structure / time signature / key / notes of this track.

Would be real eye opening to learn what's going on.

I was trying to count it to a 4/4 pattern but seems it goes

(1) 1, 2, 3, 4
(2) 1, 2, 3, 4
(3) 1, 2, 3, 4
(4) 1, 2
(5) 1, 2, 3, 4

(and so on)

(Does switch up during the verse, That was the intro. Just keep counting it out and write it down to catch the full pattern)

Yeah I noticed it sounded to do weird things in the verse too...

How do you make a beat around that, though???

It just doesn't sound right, and looking in my DAW having to start bars on off beats/middle of bars just looks odd. No clue how to play to / programm arrange to it...

got any other advice regarding that?

Yup, jus do the beat in normal 4/4, and chop out part when it restarts (ie. The last bar being 3/4) but make it with that in mind. You're gonna have to work out the full loop point though, cause the verses are different.

Listening to that track makes me angry....lol...your mind tells u the song is out of whack yet the shit fits...lol No way I could listen to a entire album with the beat doing that. Mentally it just doesn't sit right.


Some DAW'S allow u to change time sigs and tempo throughout. I've never really used it producing a track but it's a staple in Ableton live.

^I literally murdered a man tonight due to out of whack beat resulting in out of whack mind.

So should I insert timesig change to 2/4 when the beat goes a bit pre-menstrual then change it back to 4/4 ???
