It's crazy....

I have always used headphones...and I've never understood the specs...I just listen to them and make the comparisons mainly by what I hear....

I am looking to cop the beyer dynamic DT 770 Pro....

Any recommendations?

You wont be sorry with those headphones. I track everything through them. They are the only headphones I've worn for 7 hours wit no ear fatigue

if u can find a pair whose graph starts close to zero, and stays relatively close to zero all the way across, those will be ur best all around (balanced) headphones... with that said, different forums have spoke highly about the Audio Technica ATH M50, and the KRK KNS6400... i personally use the Sony MDR7506s, and the bass is not as pronounced, and the graph shows this.. put those in and u can see what im talkin bout.

Yeah...I've used both the 7506 and the 7509HD.... I'm currently using the V900-HD (not listed in that graph).. I personally didn't like the 7506 for the reason you said Slik... It made me put the bass up more....which in other mixes was too much....especially when it's a really low frequency. I did like the 7509 and i LOVE my v900HD... But the cushions on it are literally gone (flattened and the vinyl is all gone) and both hinges on each side are broken (held together by tape).

I haven't bought a pair in ages and tried to keep these as long as I could because these headphones have gotten me through a lot of beats....I'll never throw them out.....they will go down in history as the headphones that "got me there".

I havent' checked out the ones you mentioned...I've been to studios and asked around about some good headphones to use while making music...and I've been told from two engineers the BD bt700 pro is the way to go in terms of quality and comfort (those things feel like velvet on your ears).

I did ask here because I know some of you guys use headphones as well and wanted to get some kind of feedback.... So I do thank you guys for that......

I use the Sony MDR V150. I'd argue, knowing your headphones is more important than how they sound. Ive listened to music on these so long I know exactly how mixes are supposed to sound on them. (Of coarse having a good flat response is best.)

I used to have those (used them with my discman!)... kinda hurt my ears. I've been using the Sony MDR V6 for a few years now ... so far so good (great sound quality ... flat response and quite comfortable).

This is very true! haha

I wish there was a place you could listen to/sample headphones. (I dont remember guitar center doing this though)

I would LOVE that.... I wish GC or Sam Ash had that...have their top end headphones for comparison...have them all hooked up to the same songs....

i just bought 5 pairs of these:

http://www.suntekstore.com/headphone-earpads-for-sony-mdr7506-mdrv6-mdr__7506-mdr__v6.html

took almost a month to get to my house.. they are a lil thin, but for under $5 a piece, all my headphones have been brought back to life! u should take a chance on 1 pair... i believe ur Sony's are the same as mine in dimensions... the cushions give u a lil less padding, but a lot more lip, so they wont slip off as easily... since they are thinner, the speaker is a lil closer to the ear.

i added the Homepage link to the HeadRoom site.

That's cool...I'd have to get the v600 sizes...
Problem is what I mentioned as well...the hinges are broke and are held together by tape..lmao. And since that's the case...I don't get that seal all around my ear, so new cushions are cool..but doesn't really resolve the problem...Lol..

No way they are $20....

I am holding on to them as backups....they are a little on the heavy side and becomes uncomfortable after a while.
