Harmful for MPC?

Yo--

I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was bad to swap SCSI Devices while the MPC 2000XL is running and operating with power on. I heard it could fry the motherboard because of static charges. Is that even true, or what is actually the deal?

Thanks for the replies

Peace

always turn off your equipment before you swap cables and things -- it could do some damage

I used to have my triton and mpc hooked up to the same zip drive via scsi but my files kept getting corrupted and lost. I think this happpens if they try to read or write at the same time so I just got another zip drive one for each.

It's always better to tun off before doing this. It's like hookin up a new cd burner to you computer, you alway have to shut down before it works.......even if it does work with it on, you avoid future problems by cuttin the power off first
