This stands for Harmonic Balance.
I dont want to go into the whole technical "thing" about it cuz you can check it out on har-bal.com but I assure you that although at first it leaves you like "huh?", once you really start using this thing it works to the point that it will have you bust out laughing not believing that you just mastered your song that well.
They have great support there at har-bal.
The software was developed by Public Enemy's mastering engineer and this swiss guy who lives in australia.
They are all about the indie and have some cool links.
Try it out and let me know what yall think....

I have to agree, tha shit's ill as fuck! I'd recomend to any producer to cop' it. I took relic's advice and cop'd it. and my tracks are 110% better mixed.

It's looks dope, but I don't have the money for it right now. I'll use that mastering tutorial for now though.

Oh yes the mastering tutorials help alot and they have forums there as well.
One of the cooler things are the ref files.
When its labeled "50 cent in the club" that is the reference it will master your sound to.
Same with Dre,TLC,etc...
Read up on the creators and checkout their site hdqutrz.com I think.

i've heard good things about it, and i've heard horrible things about this. most of the bad things thoug are from mastering engineeers with billion dollar studios though. i might check it out.

Not a problem, its designed for indies like us so of course the multimillion $ studios dont want you to use it, it takes a while to master the software but the 1st time you get that grin on your face from somthing you've done youll be hooked.

I havent found any actual negatives to it. Its not going to "fix" a really crappy mix though.
I know when I first started using it I just stared at it like "WTF is this?" but after a while and askin questions over at their site I got the concepts.
I dont know of any bugs per se but its all covered at the website "harbal.com".
You can PM me if you get it and need some help or post here.
If anything its too damn easy because I was always lookin for somthin else I was supposed to do, but its like 3 steps from beginning to end.

I think that their examples might be better than mine.
