This morning returning from my work, I found an Akai S900 Midi Sampler, ain't that sommin'
its probably the only professional piece of equipment I have, but its a start. I got to go down to Radio Shack later to get some fuses and transistor for it, almost all of them are blown inside but thats nothing for sommin who can build an amplifier on a bread board with his eyes close, (top that Mcguyver) lol. But I would welcome some information on what it is I have here? how much is it worth, although I am not selling, it uses and such?

Where did you find it? Don't tell me someone tossed it in the trash! If it was, what were you doing going through garbage?

I found it on the street, here in Manhattan, people just leave things like this on the street corner for the garbage people to pick up, good thing I got there first, huh.
But its valued around $800? wow..

Krzy thatz a good piece I had an s950 for the longest...I think the engine for sampling is the same as the MPC60....its a 12bit punchy piece...not as gritty as the SP but still you gonna get FAT sounds out of it once you work with it...but I ain't up to what the differences are between s950 and the S900...good find tho...does it come on? anyhow yeah if you got the skillz(breadboard only a tekkie knows what one of those is..haha) it sound like you do...you might be able to fix it with the specs on the parts that were once common, you might end up going to an electronics distributor if Radio Shack doesn't have it......I sold my s950 about a year and half ago...for like 400...so I dunno how much the s900 is worth I seen both on Ebay around 200 though...

Hey y'all should see the inside of this thing, I know most of y'all aint into this so i'll translate it''s like 2 crate load of lp's mistakenly left at your door step, well thats how I feel looking inside this machine it has layers of old Ram memory, a floppy drive, and simplest circuitry I've ever seen, its just like a mini computer with built in software and no Windows, but I figured out the probelm is the Transformer and a few of the fuses are shot, seemed like they got overloaded and did what they were built to do, blow out. Lucky me huh, the fuses I will be able to get but the Transformer is sommin else, if I was in Jamaica I would have let my boy rebuild the Transformer for me, but where in New York am I gonna get that done worse yet find a replacement Transformer. I'll update you guys on my progress,

Theres a couple times where i thought id grab something somebody left for trash. But i get paranoid and i dont know if somebody gonna run outta there house swingin at me, sayin that i was stealing.

I never saw no equipment worth it, but ive seen a couple bikes i couldve sold.
