Good Vocal Remover

I'm looking for a good vocal remover. Everyone I've ever tried has never worked. The song I want to use is old from the 40's so it should be fairly easy. Any recommendations?

Can't remember the name of the software that claimed to do this, but I remember a trick to do it was posted here a long time ago. Maybe in the Resources section? Something like inverting?
