umm do you mean eq's? Because the SSL stuff is not preamps. There is really not a good way to emulate a pre amp. Sansamp is more overdrive than a pre amp....
check out tritones colortone.
it uses convolution impulses, similar to liquid channel, people make impulse for the usual, consoles, eq's, compressors, pre-amps, tape, di's, amps, samplers (asr 10, etc), etc.
another one is nebula, the use their own type of emulation that users can create emu's of their gear like colortone too
the question is, do you mean pre's or amp sims?
i forgot urs saturation plug has some pre algos too
I'm talking about all the legendary peices of hardware that people have made plug in versions of that give the certain warm signature sounds and all that.
Edit: yea I made a wrong name for the thread now that I think about it, I meant just all the different plug in versions of hardware
the ones i mentioned above, all tritone plugs, urs, waves, mcdsp, uad, liquid channel, psp, bootsie, and nebula have emulations of ssl, neve, api, avalon, massey, hedd, dbx, drawmer, urei, studer, etc (747, 1073, e and g channels, 2500, 160, 670, eq-p1, etc...)
both colortone pro and nebula have avalon and drawmer emu's, someone just created a new avalon for colortone pro and nebula 3 free has an avalon available.
tritones angeltone and hydratone have an avalon eq model along with others like massey, amek, api and others.
waves qclone has both avalon and drawmer ir and drawmer themselves have a plugin but it's tdm only.
forgot, liquid channel and gearbox have avy emu's too
