Kcuf ghost producing.. Are you a good beat maker??? Are you motivated as a mothfka???
Do it yourself. Take the top fifteen beats you have (make sure they are the shizznit or this won't work), get as many mc's preferably in your area.. Or meet people that spit on websites just like this!! Make sure they are tight before hand... they must kill your beat!!
Supposing you have all the resources and means to record a "proper" song, not necessarily P.Diddy style, but good enough so people don't think you’re wack!!! INVEST (notice I said invest, music is a business and money needs to be invested, like any other business in order to properly succeed for more then one month) five hundred copies and distribute them everywhere, clothing stores, shoe stores, gas stations, strip clubs... don't tell anyone, but the key places are record stores that sell urban style vinyl’s and cater to "hip-hoppers". You will have people talking about your “illmuzik”(had to), including the artists.. If done well these “artists” will want to do more business with you creating the demand.. By all means DO not charge for this cd, if your name isn't Pharrell chances are they won't take the time of day to even think about buying it. Give them out to kids you see spitting off the curb, outside of clubs, friends of friends... create a buzz and always carry a few copies.. ‘cause you never know who you will bump into!!(you are from Virginia right??, say what up to Timbalan for me!!).
Keep one thing in mind... you are the chitt, you have what it take. I’ve said this before and I will repeat myself... the only reason why you WILL succeed is because somebody else will quit!! If you quit, then you are making way for someone else, it's a vicious circle!! Promote your stuff, if it takes you two years to make something dope, then let it take that long. Music is a lifelong discipline, that's why you see Full University faculties dedicated to music, musical composition and musical performance...
If you have the product... the promotion, the price and the right place you have yourself the 4 P's (check out this website for more info.... http://dede.essortment.com/psmarketing_rvte.htm), if you've ever taken a marketing class you'd understand... you can't go wrong Homiee!!!
I've taken this way... WAY beyond your question, but it's just what I was feeling at the time...
Best of luck Dr. B.Hawk

Obviously If Ur Ghost Producing Ur Name Isnt Anywhere, Hence The Word Ghost... Ghost Production Is Basically All About The Money, "give Me The Money And Do Whatever The Fuck U Want With The Beat...." I Know A Few Cats Who Are Ghost Producers, And They Do This To Stay Away From Fame, Plus It Makes Contracts And Stuff Mad Simple, Straight To The Point And Give Me The Money...nah Mean.

Whilst ghost producing, you don't just make money to feed yourself. It's a way to expand your gear, meet people, get connections etc., so that when you are ready to take it to the next level, you have all you need.
I think this is a great way to start out. Many lines of work have a trial period, training time, apprenticeships etc, consider ghost producing the same.

yea Deez, that was a good a$$ post. A lot of knowlege dropped on that poist.
The companyI'll be hiring will shop my demo and try to help me get a foot in the door.
Most likely a production deal. they told me about a few producers who do use ghost producers, such as lil' jon. (I just know he didn't make the beat to Trick Daddy's "Lets go" song. lol...)

Here is how i feel about going the gost producer route. I would do it as long, but not for long becuse one of my goals is to become one of the best producers in the music industry someday. Just have a awsome reputation like Dr. Dre and 'em. But right now, I could use some paper so I'll wouldn't hesitate to accept a opportunity to ghost produce for someone. to me, there are more pros than cons in this situation.

No fame but you get money, connects, and... umm... money.
lol

gost production is a beautiful thing for a up and coming producer. so what if they make you sighn a paper stating that you are not to discus the terms and condition of your service to this individual to anyone, but you still getting paid pretty good so stack your chips and keep it moving.

look at it as a paid internship

I've been approached by some producers who shall remain nameless (C&D) and they wanted me to do ghost production, but I take too much pride in what I do to let some cat get the credit for my beats. I been working on it for too long.
