Getting old MIDI keyboard to work with Ableton Live 7

I've read the manual, well, parts of it haha. All I can see about my problem is

"From the Input Type chooser
of a MIDI track, you can either select a specic MIDI input port or "All Ins," which is the merged input of all external MIDI ports"

Now I've been on MIDI in the preferences, but I cannot see any input ports or devices, even though I've had this keyboard working with the computer already. I had it working with Reason, then FL8 and then it stopped working on Reason somehow, I don't know if this may be linked, because I set Reason as my ReWire source in the FL settings.

having a similar problem when i hit a key on my midi controller with ableton open it just plays the first note i hit forever and following notes wont work..idk wtf is up
