If you could get one peice of gear donated to you regardless of cost, what would you get?

Right now I got my eye on a Waldorf XTk... and my wallet looking the other way :)

If it were on the recording side of things, I'd have to say that Focusrite ISA430 pre-amp... That shit makes your mom's farts sound good going to tape. (Or hard drive)

So what do you guys want? I'm interested in what the rest of the hiphop community is feining for...

Hey Chedda-

It's crazy right, a few minutes after reading your post and thinking, "yeah, a rhodes would be tight" I get a call from a friend of mine that's going to let me make a multisample of his Wurlitzer! (It's got a mellower sound, not so much treble)

An MPC 4000 would be the shit too, but unfortunately Akai's not making it a synth...

Anyone checked the Roland V Synth yet? I think it's the only good peice of gear that they've make in the past 10 years! It's not going to replace an Access or a Nord, but it can do some pretty exciting stuff... I want to use one to manipulate vocal samples... damn...

Also, JavaScript, have you checked out the Sony DMX R100? The 02R 96 is nice, but the Sony's got it's ass kicked- I use one at work and would trade my mom-dukes for one. :) **Sorry Mom!**

Hey man- I've seen them on eBay going for like $500-1300 depending on the condition.

I think the mark 88 version is the best, even has a built in speaker! :p

I'll haven't started that multi yet, I'm still geeking on the sounds!

Hey Formant-

I use a J console @ work, and that thing is freaking nice- The SSL makes my MPC60 sound like God is banging on the kick!

Why a realizer though? I would want the Wave myself- or the Waldorf version- remember, they took over a lot of PPG research for use in their own products.

A wave alone is not enough unfortunatly. A full ppg kit would include the Wave 2.3+WaveTermB+PRK+EVU. That's the fullest ppg potential in my perspective. I mean, they're exspensive for a vintage piece of gear. If you have the money you should buiy the full kit or it's just half steppin. Like a MKS without a PG, it doesn't work. The realiser is like the Emu Audity, a prototype, 2 made ever and one is funtional with a Minimoog emulator and a Sequential Prophet-x. But it's a dope piece of gear, this is the 80's version of the VST plug-in, @ least it's protocol.

On the SSL I have not much to say, we are thinking about purchasing a 4056 G+ and if it gets here it will be a maiden voyage for my vintage gear. Untill then the Soundtracs Topaz will do the job quite nicely, we just ran into an offer on the console which was reconsiderable for a second thought, but I'm still in full effect without it. It just look nice, also to the customer hehe.

Hey, how are those Soundtracs boards?

I'm looking into getting a mixer for my home studio, and I wanted something digital, but the only thing that will work in my budget is the Tascam DM24- but the pre's sound like shit... If I could get a good analog board for about the same price, I'd look into that instead- how many chnls/aux/busses does that guy have? Doesn't it also have in-line monitoring capabilities?
