Just stumbled on this site after searching on google - it looks impressive and im hoping to hook up with some cool heads!

Anyhow, quick intro, Australian producer from Perth (that's on the other side of the country to where Sydney, Melbourne etc are) who's been digging for about five years and producing for a little less than that. Had beats released and am always looking for MCs to bless my beats, though i'm starting to do a lot more solely instrumental stuff a la Shadow and Format. In aside to DJ'ing at various pubs around Perth, current projects include work with Australian MCs plus a few new cats in Perth who i'm hitting off with beats...

Here's a couple pages with some beats on them for those interested!

Always keen to hear from people, so feel free to send me a private message or email!

cheers,
Max

Hey,

Wow, someone who writes in English....

I have to give respect to the Ossies, I've been watching a lot of Australian Footie and rugby, as well as going through the entire Church catalogue, what a neat country!

G'day and welcome!

Take care,

Nick

Gday Vitaminman!

Cheers for the comments and the welcome - i know what you mean about writing in English! Far too often on Forums people talk this Internet gibberish!

But yeah, we got the Rugby world cup happening in about a month right across the country.. it should be a mad time indeed with pubs across the nation getting filled. By the way, just uploaded a new beat to my soundclick page, please feel free to check it out!

cheers,
Max

Max,

I'll check out your stuff when I get to a faster computer (I'm on a SSSLLLLOOOOWWWWW Mac right now). We all post our new beats in the Showcase section here and get feedback, props and gripes from everyone here, it's a lot of fun.

Oh yes, the rugby WC!!!! I was in Paris when Australia raped France live on national television in the final in '99, we were all there supporting France...when the game finished, the 3 Australian supporters in the bar, dressed in gold and green, all joined hands with the French fans and sang a bunch of songs and drank beer, it was such a great atmosphere to see fans from both sides having a laugh.

At a soccer game there would have been beatings...speaking of which, there are some great Ossies in the English PL who are absolutely amazing, like Viduka and Kewell.

But this year it will be different at the WC, my boys from England look to kick some ass for the northern hemisphere :D

What kind of gear and software are you using?

Take care,

Nick

PS: Your name wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with Max Sterling, would it?!?

Yo Nick!

Cheers for the info! I'll post some beats on the showcase section and check out the beats from producers on here. The forums look real active which is excellent! Equipment wise, Cool Edit Pro 1.2 and Fruity Loops... that's it! Cool Edit for sampling and multi-tracking, Fruity Loops to sequence the beats! I've fiddled with newer versions of both, but for the moment, my slow computer can only handle those!

Too right about the sports, man those English take soccer far too seriously. I would have hated being an Australian supporter at the international we won against the English.. but this year's World Cup should be very interesting! The Wallabies just lost the Bledesloe Cup to the All-Blacks after holding onto it for half a decade, so they'll be out to prove something this year - plus they're playing at home which always brings out the best in all our athletes!

And nah, the name doesn't have anything to do with Mr. Stirling in particular, but it does have to do with Robotech! Max is my name and as Veritechs (Valkyries for the Japanese!) had three different configuration modes making them really versatile, I thought it'd stick.. plus my surname starts with 'V'!

Okay... off to the showcase section!

cheers,
Max

P.S. Shouts to all the Aussies here! I'll be sure to say g'day soon!

cheers Tim and Goldeneyeoutlaw! wow, talk about a friendly welcome! If only more forums were like this!

fade: i'm hanging out to post some beats in feedback! for now, everyone feel free to check out my soundclick page for a few older beats... i was gonna spend last night at home doing beats but had to head out with my mate for this girl's birthday. would have much rather stayed at home with my records! Hopefully I can do that tonight and come up with some money track for the Battle That! Comp until I get enough posts up! Oh yeah, I also submitted an application to write for the site, let us know once you've given it the once over!

By the way Goldeneyeoutlaw - does your handle have anything to do with the N64 game of the same name? That game has been a measure of excellence amongst the boys for so long. These days, we play with drinking rules enforced... true carnage!

niiiice! and yeah, right up there with the old classics bubble bobble, 1943, black tiger etc for playability i reckon! the music was pretty good too i might add.. the follow up bond game though was nowhere near as good.. all things considered, perfect dark was the *better* sequel to goldeneye!

remixing beats doesn't mean.....

When u remix beats, u don't get get a 2PAC/Dre beat and slow it down, it just turns it into a shitty beat, not remix.....what other beats do u have?
