Fuck AI

AI is like the internet and social media, revolutionary at first, but comes with hidden dangers. Like with the internet it gave rise massively to sex offenders and paedophiles and online porn being widely available to kids. Social media allowed us to connect, socialise and communicate instantly all over the world. It too was revolutionary, but it has created camps of ideologies that are opposed to each other and its divided society as people love to argue with each other from behind screens.
AI too is revolutionary that could do wonders for humanity, but given the types of people in control of such things, it wont be used for that and will most certainly be a tool to control society, through AI led psychological warfare, just like we are living in right now.

Actually, I think the only solution to using AI is to make it so that it's only for helping with coding, general office tasks, etc. Like a personal assistant of sorts. Because right now it's being too disruptive, like what's happening with the Hollywood writers. Writing is the first job that can easily be replaced by AI, but if it was not able to write and instead just do code or whatever, that would be a giant relief.

Unfortunately that's not going to happen. I just think it's a ticking time bomb and we'll end up with a ton of jobs gone real soon. I know some people think that's not going to happen, but AI is constantly learning, which is the whole point, but look at how much more advanced GPT 3.5 to 4.0 is. So I'm just thinking about how crazy it would be when it's version 5 or 6, plus all the other companies working on AI. I just read yesterday about Apple getting in the game, so who knows.

I'm hoping it will lead to a counter culture boom. Like is there any counter culture now? Currently it's pure sheep culture.

Music is already fucking robotic, with the trap kids just regurgitating the same old shit loops and same sounds.

So if this is furthered by AI ... which tend to only go from learning. This sameness will perpetuate moreso. I'm sure there will be and hoping for the moment some decide to make a change and maybe creativity comes back.

I concur.

Imagine one day there's a DAW where you're making a beat and it asks you if you want to add a bassline because that's normally what you do after you do your melody. Or it knows that you usually try to match your kick to your bass note and it just does it for you. THAT would be cool. But not using AI to tell it to make a hot sick fire beat then create an image and upload it to Youtube and you don't have to lift a finger. You could essentially be a beatmaking superstar while on the toilet!!!

Call me old fashioned but I dont think AI has the soul to make really good music. Music is really about stirring an emotional response, how can a machine with no soul understand emotion?

Exactly. But as a tool to help you build something it's great. I guess kind of like saving your favorite template in your DAW except the usual stuff is done on the fly instead.

I like Stability AI's approach to AI LLMs in that it makes models as powerful as GPT4 and releases them to everyone to use on Github. "Freewilly2" supposedly has better or comparable performance to GPT4: https://stability.ai/blog/freewilly-large-instruction-fine-tuned-models

I discovered this AI the other day that will literally make a full song with "cheesy" music based on a few words you give it for a prompt: https://app.songr.ai/

This is what I'm talking about. The shit is moving so fast right now with tons of tools out there.

AHAHAHA holy shit I just tried it, it's hilarious.

But still though it's scary how these things can and will change everything, it's just of course right now we don't know how things are going to end up.

Haha, indeed. I gave it a prompt in the Hip Hop category the other day "I have a boner" and this is what it came up with:
