Freeway - Free at Last

I will check out the track you mentioned.
Maybe the lack of a club/radio joint or a Just Blaze/Kanye joint is a sure sign that maybe just maybe hiphop is taking a turn for the better, by appealing to the underground market and selling by word of mouth instead of radio rotation. Maybe im reading into it too far but I will take it as a positive step in the right direction for hiphop as a whole. Im quite surpised that JB & KW were collaborating on something and it didnt make the final cut tho.
But hell to me hiphop is about people I havent heard of. When they become popular I look for something new. I like exclusive shit that nobody else is rocking. Madlib was that man for quite a while, now Im looking for the next big thing. Id definitly bump that "Spit That Shit" in the mix, to me thats the epitamy of hiphop, Im off to check out the rest of the album now.

"what we do" was off of freeways first album .... i disagree about the club banger thing though .. its not always about underground/mainstream... a good track that will knock on the radio or the clubs is a good look for ANY artist..... i think people dig too deep into the whole undergound/mainstream thing... theres wack music and good music .. period. ........ i hate alot of the "underground" shit that people are hyping up all the time.. but at the same time I hate alot of the more popular stuff too... but on both sides of the coin there is good music is being made u just gotta weed through the garbage. .......flipside was a dope track..so was "rock tha mic" on the state property joint.. but the club songs on this one are weak imo...

I just listened to the songs up on his myspace from the album.... I fully 100% believe it was booty. The songs I heard from This album didn't compare to Graduation (beatwise) let alone be considered one of the best this year. Sorry guys, but from what I heard, it gets a 5 outta 10.

well thats cool if u wanna make judgements off of the myspace joints.. but two of those songs are the weakest on the album.. frees style is not for evrybody but he has more heart than 98% of these rappers out here hes one of the few that even sounds like hes tryin to say somethin.. ur entitled to your opinion but if u see respected members left and right cosignin it u should at least download the full album (since i told everyone where to get it lol) then if u feelin it u can cop it or diss the shit out of it

outta curiosity , who would u say came with the best album of album the year?, (notice i said on a major cuz talking independent is waayy too subjective) lets say top three.... imo alot of spicy pipin hot garbage came out this year, i was hardly feelin anything. i would say kanye, free, and ..fuc i cant think of anything else that was that hot on a major.. i guess american gangster but only by default becasue i thought it was overated.

I only liked one song on the myspace page, and I like free...just the beats didn't seem all that to me.( well what I heard.) My top three for the year would have to be Kanye, Talib, and Pharoahe...(though I thought that album was slept on.)
but I'll download the album and get back to you with a full on opinion.... : )

I was very disapointed by the Pharoahe album, but then my expectations were also very high.
I lost interest in it and only really liked one track on it, and I obviously liked it so much that i dont know the name of it. What I heard of Joell Ortiz was pretty dope in my opinion.
