Which program do you like best?

Reason or Cubase

My friend got Reason and he says it is way better the Cubase without even using it. So there is no better place then here to ask which program to you like more?

I personally use Reason for sequencing...and like it a lot. Being a Reason user I would of course recommend that.
Lately, I've been converting all my samples to Reason Refills...and its so much easier having everything at hand via these.
I haven't used Cubase all that much and know that they've developed things since I used it last. I think its just a matter of getting used to a program...they're probably equally good in each of their own ways.

they are very different program.

I use both of them simultaneouly via rewire. I use the best of both world. Sequencing in reason2 and mixing, vocal,fx(vst) in cubase sx.

Hey,

Yeah, they're both completely different programs, you can't fairly compare them.

True, they both share a few features...

1. Reason is a software synth with an integrated sequencer.
2. Cubase is a sequencer with integrated softsynths.

But Cubase is also a multitrack MIDI and audio recorder and audio editor, you can do so much more with it to pre existing audio files than you can with Reason, plus generate and edit MIDI with such detail that Reason can only dream of doing.

Reason's softsynths completely destroy the ones that come with Cubase...

This is why you would want to use them in tandem with each other by syncing them through Rewire.

I don't know if you can trigger external hardware synths or sync to external sequencers with Reason; you definitely can in Cubase.

Take care,

Nick

I've used them both. They're both good programs. I use Cubase SX now. It's easier for me to use vsti's (Halion, LM4, Pro 52 etc..) plus sequencing, and editing inside of one program, . I couldn't do all that in Reason. But, like I said, they're both good programs.
