This shit pisses me off!!!! Whenever I am using my VST's and I get more then 3 VST tracks I get all that clicking/popping bullshit! Now, I know it ain't because of my system having too much stuff on it ( I just re-did my whole computer and I have a whle shitload of space. Plus I am running on 1.24 Gig of RAM). So, Basically this is what I do.

Click on a tab> Insert VST> Lay down melody> Open another tab> add VST> and so on. What causes this? It gets really irratating and it is the only big flaw for me using FL. Is there a way to fix this? I have tried the buffer rate but that doesn't help. And I have my settings set up for the ASIO. I am using a Delta 1010lt soundcard by the way.

word of advice, kill any other processes running, if you have internet on that machine look for spyware, believe it or not spyware running in the background can spike up and down and cause resource utilization to suddenly go up, since Fruity loops uses a lot of resource when it is running it can cause problems and cause that situation you are describing, I am running pentium 4 2 + gigahertz box with a gig of ram and these spikes happen ery now and then with the crackles and like you said if start adding vst's it becomes more frequent.....I use protools audio channels off the digi in Fruity loops and it has a robust buffer so its some other issue I think...

Ok I see, because I notice that in my newest version after around 5 my sends are already set up in the mixer even if I am not using them sort of as a default from Fruity loops ....hmmmm,, is that what you are referring to?...that never occured to me mr. reefer I mean Formant LOL

noob lol,

its easy though, select a strip, then left-click on the send button at the channel you want to assign it to, the assigned track goes back to the masterin the same manner, every chain goes back to the master. I like the modular patching this way, so simple but efficient. I hardly use the gain control on the sends to groups perhaps a little on reverbs/delays(also only send back wet signals, so no fully dry signal should go back into the mix). Gain the fx, take out the low then fader down, mostly allmost all the way down.

Have you noticed the automatic delay compensation ( for vst ) ?

No matter how good your soundcard is, if your machine can't keep up with all the calculations it needs to make to produce the audio, you will still get those clicks and pops. You can either upgrade your machine or find out why its running so bad if its at a good spec. Or you can set the buffer rate higher so your machine has more time for the calculations it needs to make.

This is not a soundcard nor an FL problem. It's a CPU problem.

You'll have to make mixdowns of the vst tracks to use during the beat making process and then mute the vst itself until final mixdown/further tweaking.
