FL vs. Reason

I'd go FL, much more adaptive to any situation where as reason has a closed environment (midi in only). So with reason and hardware you always need another program like FL, Cubase or Logic to steer the whole setup.

That's true, but what about a dude that's used both? That's who I wanna hear from, but yeah I'm def. checking out Reason.

I do Seoul. Just started getti into Reason, but ben usin FL since 3.0. Ummm, I have to say that I like Reason alot, but FL is much easier. I love the NN-XT in Reason, it is remarkably easy to use, yet the Drums in FL always come out nice. The great thing in FL is the grid, cause you can start ya main drum loops and edit more when sending to the piano roll. Drawing in drums in Reason sucks, but if ya have a midi controller then there's no worries for that part of it. I have to honestless say that both are good. I am leanin towards Reason, but last night I've been actually using both for the same song. lol, I may like using Reason, but I am faithful to FL. Hope that helps.

I think formant has a great point. I use both alot, they are the only programs i use aside from cooledit. Now I want to get some hardware and want to use it through reason but will eventually have to rewire reason through FL.. SO because of that and and the fact i'd love to use some Native Instrument vst's I bet i'll start my next project in FL. Plus i wasn't ripped off in that ebay auction for the electribe ea-1 so i'm sure i'll begin using FL more... i need to look into the rewiring thing because I'm new at it and it didn't work like i expected. Well, it from my point of view and I worked with reason up to 2.5. To me it's not worth running n extra proggie for what reason gives you imo. Anything these days you get on vst instruments and samples opens up more alternatives than reason on its own but Im damn sure peeps will go nuts when I say stuff like that. But you gotta ask yourself the question what you've really tried. So, all I know is that there better stuff available, so it's not worth using it, even with rewire.

Ive used both and I prefer reason. In my opinion its an overall better program; but thats just my opinion. I used reason for a while then I started to use just FL and then I went back to using only reason now.
