I'm just curious and would like to hear some beats that you've put together using FLStudio.

I have a Roland MV-8000 but I'm going through some thangs with my wife's immigration situation where I might have to sell it. If I do have to I'd like to get into software.

If you can post some links to your beats I'd appreciate that, so I can hear that it doesn't impede your creativity.

I'd would normally check the showcase, but I want to be certain I'm hearing a beat made with software.

Thanks.

i don't think it's what your using, as long as it can do it's job, but how you use it. fl can do its thang for sure but the interface might not be your style. btw since this thread might get some fl users I have a question! Is there any way to use a mic to live record with fl???? i think you can with producers edition but i only have the regular package with a few extras i paid for.

You wanna listen to what fruit loops can do? Listen to 9th Wonder's beats... he's probably the producer that's best know for using fruityloops at a professional level...

FL cant do anything.. an mv 8000 cant do anything. cubase sucks, an mpc is worthless, and a motif is garbage.

on their own, that is.

all this comes down to is your skills.

people are under such blinders- not saying yuo are- but there is a such a huge misunderstanding of people abuot gear and it is sad.

remember, the mv is a sequencer- and so is FL. maybe with different features different ways of doing things. chances are, there is nothing that you cannot do in FL that yuo do wiuth the mv.

Trust me, I don't have blinders (I didn't take offense to your post, we cool Cold Truth).

I read in article about FL Studio and it seems like its pretty powerful. I've just never incorporated a computer into making music.

I downloaded the demo last night and will check it out tonight.

My big concearn is hooking up my turntable. Can I run it through the mixer and the mic in line?

I have a M-Audio sound card (24/96) I think.

hey man, I use FLStudio (although lately for collaborative reasons I've been using REASON) and it is indeed a powerful program.

You should be able to hook up your turntable to your PC relatively easily. Through a mixer should be fine, make sure you get a decent Soundcard too though.

You can basically do anything and everything with either FLSTudio and REASON. If you are switching to a computer setup, either of those programs can provide excellent results.

As far as FLStudio users, peep 9th Wonders beats on Jay-Z album, Destinys Childs album, Murs EP or Little Brother and Justus League etc. (check your Private Messages too mate)

Please cut the 9th Wonder crap, cos you cant hear, that didnt come out of fruity like you hear it, it has been to a studio and fully mastered. So it is better to hear things from the showcase and ask what plugins have been used or additional things besides fruity, so you can get a good view on how it sounds before it has been mastered.
Besides that creativity and style depend on the user not on what he is using.

I'm not sure I agree with that 100%. Sure, 9th beats would have been mastered but they still show what's possible with FLStudio. I do agree that ultimately it's the user that determines the quality of beats produced regardless of what they use to make them.

If anyone wants to hear some snippets of 9th Wonders beats then PM me

peace

This site is 'living' proof it doenst matter what setup (hardware or software) you rock,, people can take it up to creative heights that can only make you guess what they are using. So when being asked about software or hardware, best thing you can do is show some stuff that hasnt been mastered to let them know what the sound actually is and what additional things there have been done to it and in what kind of quality it is exported/rendered. So the listener has something real to judge and criticize.
But to each his point of view ey.

you can make BAsslines easily with "Boo Bass" or with some decent Bass samples. Also if you mess with pitch, filters amd basically mess with almost any sound you can turn it into a bass sound.

FL has plenty of bass. u may not want to use them all but u can definately fiddle with the samples and generators etc they hav provided to extract decent sounds that u r looking for..
