First time going to record in a studio

wassup everybody, next week will be my first time EVER going to record in a pro studio. I'm paying 250 for 10 hours, at first I was kinda sceptical about the low price, but the place is close and they use pro tools and nuendo so I think they'll be ok. I've memorized all my songs and can get them down in one take and I'm real excited but I'm starting to get a little nervous, I got no idea what it's gonna be like. does anybody have any tips to have stuff go smoother or is there anything i need to do to my beats before i go?. Any suggestions would be appreiciated.

Dont try to Force everything in 1 take... because at the end of 10 hours u dont wanna go back and re record anything.. let it be Natural just dont try to rush things....

i would 1st suggest sitting n a Session before u even try to record i say this because when im recording people i know we have a formula i know when to record them and when not to.. i know how many dubs they need off the back for there type of music i KNOW THEM.. with New people they dont know much.. and they do 1 take and there done and look all confused when i tell them to go and again.. basically he or they may Expect u to know things that u dont know u feel me.. so sit in a Session and she the run done this way u are more prepared when u go to record

well that depends on the studio. ask nicely tell them.. i wanna record but i dont know shit.. be honestly man.. tell them you never been in a studio and u just wanna d it correct.. is there a way u can watch a Session before u actually record so u have some ideal of what u should be doing so u can better propare u self so u both and get the most outta the time and money u spend

Make sure you got all your beats ready to just hand over to them so they can load it up on their system. My first time going to a studio I forgot the beats on the cd so i had to convert it to a wave file and burn it from my laptop.

Good info here. Yeah, don't forget you music. That's kinda important. LOL And if you can have back-ups of your music. CDs will fail. Make sure you know your music, meaning BPM, start times, key signatures etc. These are some things an engineer will need to know. If you know them, the engineer won't need to waste time finding them.

If you know someone that has experience recording, take them with you. Some engineers will try to fuck you over if they see that you don't know anything. I engineer and I do a lot of clean up work for artists that go to other studios and spend a bunch of money on shitty product. Let them know what format you're bringing and mos def let them know what format you want to leave with.

Another thing i would recommend is to get references from other folks that recorded there. Just because they have protools, don't mean they know what they're doing.
