finding the right sound !

I've been after a particularly sound for a while its like a plucked guitar kind of sound its used a lot by the aftermath camp ! it woz used in 50 cents in the club not the main melody but the other but that came in for the chorus like a guitar chuggin kinda sound i want to use it in one of my new tracks but can't seem to get the right sound ! Has anyone got a sound like this or no where i can get one preferably for reason subtractor or sumthing !

You need a live guitar to accomplish that sound. no synth or keyboard will ever be able to duplicate that sound in at least the next 5 years ..... you can find a sound that's close but you would have to run it through effects and filters to try and get it to sound real close like a real guitar but that shit is hard ... believe me ... That's one of my biggest gripes.

yeah you can get them, but mad scientist is right they dont normally sound too natural.

yea kind of a mute guitar is a good description yea like you ive had a good with sounds running thru all sorts of effects and it sounds similar but not the same ! I've got a few guitars from my old man who used to play them ill see if i can sample myself !

U could try doin what Chedda said and then apply some SUSTAINING to it to make it more background, maybe you can get away with it then....It will be more part of tha whole song rather than its own part...I kno that may be not what yer goin for tho.
