hey everyone,

I'm wondering what soft synths everyone uses here, as I'm interested in getting one within a few months. So far I've picked out the Applied Acoustics "Lounge Lizzard"

because it is geared towards the Rhodes/Whurlitzer vintage style. For general use though, what does anyone use and why?

Computer Music Magazine - Review Quotes

"It's when you pump the Lounge Lizard hard and dirty the thing up that you get the best results... As well as coming up with filthy tones that retro funksters will love, we managed to create plenty of sounds that bore little or no audible resemblance to those that would be produced by a 'traditional' electric piano, so there's no denying that AAS have produced a versatile instrument."

"(Lounge Lizard) does offer something genuinely different at a very competitive price. It may have a slick name, but this bad boy can be funky as the devil."

"Provides a fantastic degree of realism and control over your electric piano tones. Couple this with a powerful and specialised effects systems, and you have a selection of classic tones that range from the gritty to the smooth, and from the laid-back to the truly full-on."

I would recommend Native Instruments' REAKTOR. The ultimate solution, I believe, for the creation of any synth.

Moog Modular is real nice. If you know how to tweak all those little buttons, the amount of sounds you can get out of it is amazing

has anyone tried Atmosphere by Spectrasonics? It sounds like a wicked ambient kind of soft synth.

and if i had the cash I'd buy an actual Rhodes too, how dope would that be.
